are HU games helpful in improving post-flop play?

I don't think it would because when heads up you're more likely to call a raise from the other player with a variety of hands that you probably wouldn't play in a regular sng or tournament.

HU cash, yes
HU SNG, depends.
because you could not expect to play postflop often when you play 500 starting chips , hyper speed HU SNG.

I think all games have there place in improving play. For me heads up SNG's helped improve my preflop play, helping me with setting up my table image, portray a hand one way or the other no matter what was in my hand or what hit the board.

In my opinion the games hu nothing to help the post flop play.
Are different styles, played in different ways.
It is difficult you expect good hands when it comes to hyper turbo hu sng.
I think you have to study a style at once, and adapt as best as possible.
Play tormeios MTT, SNG, CASH GAME things are different from each other.

Heads up poker does allow you to study your opponent and look at how you play postflop. The deeper, the more skill involved, but hyper turbo SNG's are good for rake (more for high stakes) and learning the math back to front. It also teaches you how to play some speculative hands and get into more situations and more hands giving you more experience.

In a word, NO

HU 'strategy and play' is essentially different than all other play, pre or post flop, whether MTT, SnG, or Cash.

HU practice and study, however, is very important if you ever expect to actually WIN any of these because ultimately there will be HU play and you must be prepared.

HU sit and go prepare you just for a head up on a final table of a tournament MTT or sit and with large field, either your play must be more tight when playing against other players on mtt : my VPIP on head up play is 35% and my vpip on MTT is 20%

yes, for sure it does, it improves hand reading tremendously. But you have to know the adjustments to make for 6handed play, 9 handed play etc. It will help a lot in BVB HU spots in normal games.

Any type of poker where you are forced to play more postflop will help your postflop play. that's just plain common sense. there's a lot of babble in this thread, i feel sorry for op to have to read it.
