I was playing some 6-max turbo with just play money for practice. There was a dude that was constantly shoving and actually winning. He called an all-in with 3-6 and beat AKs with trip 3's. Anyway, he had luck on his side. So what I did was just limp pre-flop a little more because he would re-raise big or all-in on me. Is this a safe and smart way to play these "fish"? I won the tournament in the end too hehe

People like this you can trap. Or try to get it in as good as you can. Thats all you can try to do, they want to inflate pots and stack off, let them. Wait for a premium hand. Sometimes a big ace is just good enough to punish them.

First, try to find out whether he gives a fk about people having hands or not, and how often he is pushing. If he doesnt seem to care about ppl limping calling him with monsters that is your answer, if he calls when you go over the top, then simply go over the top when you can. And be aware of your roll, can you afford having this guy getting lucky on you?

As they say just go on the snake for the hand which is lot of EV+ for his 100% range and go for it. He has just good running hands. Slow play limp-call, check-raise or call.

In big blind, call shove with about 55% equity against his hand. If he for example shoves 3 times in a row and now it's 4th time. What chances are he has everytime very good hand? Small. From time to time they are. His range you can think between random range and range good hands. But suppose his range is 80%~We must find range of hands that beats him in 55% range of 80%. It's like 30%~ Ax, 22+ K2s+, Q8s+, J9s+, KTo+, QTo+. You can cut a bit without Ax off suit and 77+. He is huge bonus. We want call him as fast as possible before someone do the job.

Always shoving

It sounds like you have the right idea. Calling with an anticipation of the re-raise shove is a great strategy against these types of players. You have to realize though that sometimes they will get lucky and bust you out of the tournament. In those situations you have to also stay calm. There is nothing you can do about that. Just know that you played the hand the best way that you could and made the best decisions that you could.

Good question - wait until you hit big

If the person is always betting on nothing and winning, you need to wait until you hit big cards like pocket kings or aces and DO NOT BET against him/her for I found they will just fold your good hand and you are back at square one with them. Let them do the betting and you will take all their money in one or 2 good hands... you will notice the more chips you take from them, slows down their aggressive betting.

These type of people call whales because what you do is keep calling them pre with decent hands like a8+ k10+ wait till you hit top pair and let them keep betting ull get his stack in one go also if he checks on the river a great way to make him bluff huge is do a riduclously small bet I'll make him go crazy trust me do this works loads usally get the rest of there stack this way

why if somebody get c?razy and shove wide range you should get tight?! You should just widden the range of your calls of those pushes. You should work with poker calculators in order to know which cards you should call/fold if for e.g. the opponent pushes 22% of his range from the cutoff.

Wait for good hand and call, or trap him if you are in early position...

We see a bunch of this kind of players in freerolls and micro tournaments, and KNOW something, this guy is never wining a tourney, just wait for good cards so you can call him off, he's losing that chips sooner or latter, just hope you are the guy that take those chips .

It's play money so hard to take it serious. But as others said this happens in low stake buy in tournaments ALL the time. Just get your chips in good and over time you'll easily bust these maniacs. I open my range up a lot more against them if I see them doing it over and over, sometimes they still win, but other times I catch them shoving 52o and I'm holding like A10 and it works out nicely.

That's exactly how i play them. Limp fold limp fold then call with the best you can. I just had this happen in an ACR freeroll. I waited and waited and then called with AK and cut him in half. Two hands later I got him the rest of the way with Jacks. Use their aggression against them.

I play tighter and wait for a good hand. In the meantime I hope that someone doesn't take all his chips before I can.

Since you was playing on play money there was your problem. While it's play money nobody cares they win or losses or with what cards they going all in. But yes for players like that must be patient and wait for opportunities. Got great hand he raises you reraise and even fish will know you got something :D

All three above hit it on the head, it's play money, you can't take any of it seriously most of the time, occasionally you will find some people that will play a proper game but that is rare.

The only way to counter them is to see the flop as cheap as you can with any 2 cards until you stack them and they leave or they start to play properly. (Highly unlikely) It's quite easy to accumulate play money chips, I have millions and when I find someone like that I make it a mission to stack them with the worst hand possible if I can, but any way will do, after all it is play money.

This was not a guy that was shoving but he does like to do it, it's a guy I see quite often playing the 10K play money SPnGMax games, he doesn't shove unless he hits big, he min raises when he misses. He just can't not raise.
