In a recent Sit&Go tournaments are constantly gaining more and more popularity. This is due to some peculiarities of this type of poker games, in particular competitive ability which is usually only one winner or several awards. In addition, these tournaments are fast enough, on average, for 20-30 minutes, which allows you to immediately identify the winner or to start a new game without waiting for other tables of the party will be completed.

Already from the name Sit and Go we can say that this game - sit down and play, i.e. it starts when it will be typed a certain number of players at the table and ends when there is only one winner. This implies a lot of features, in particular, the need to closely monitor all players at the table, as with them from the beginning to the end will be the whole party and the rookies will not appear and the valuable information which you will be able to draw on each of the stages will be useful in the future.

Often in Sit and Go there is a doubling of the blinds after a certain period of time, which increases the pace of the game and forces you to act more and more aggressive over time, because the stack may decrease significantly when the blinds already rise significantly.

By themselves, these tournaments are like a kind of mini-tournament to them in General, you can apply the main approaches for a full-fledged tournaments.

In a Sit&Go it is possible to allocate following stages:
early
average
late
Early players looking at each other, studying tactics and strategy, but many inexperienced players at this stage seek immediately trying to win a lot of chips, play aggressive and most of all put your chips. Experienced players conversely seek to preserve your stack or increase it at the expense of a tight game, that essentially helps in creating a reputation at the table and can help in the final stages of the game. It is worth noting that the early stage weeds out the weak and not balanced with players, fans go all-in with a weak card, and so on.

The middle stage can be denoted when left for about or more than half of the players at the table up to that point is determined by the largest number of chips at the table that can be deceptive, because in the last step the chips are redistributed very quickly and it is possible for one hand to lose everything, even without betting (due to the high blinds). Simply put, in the middle of the tournament should continue to take care of his stack, trying not to lose it, but starting to play more aggressive. There was going to be actual stealing blinds, because they have grown up. Try not to play weak hands, if you are in the blind positions, if you are in the small blind, then it is advisable to almost always come into play.

After passing the middle of the tournament survive two types of players:
1 - those who his game was able to grow the stack
2 - those who stayed and preserved or slightly increased the initial stack.
Late or final stage of the tournament Sit and Go is the most acute and unpredictable, as the situation changes with every hand, is it advisable to go all in or bet a lot, what to require blinds, which can be half or even a whole stack of the player. Here it is hard to give any advice, because the game depends on card came, but if they do you good, it is almost always worth going all in. In some varieties can be one or several prizes. If you play at a table with several prizes, just aiming to survive until the final stage, and then as lucky!

At any time Sit&Go tournament is very important fold preflop, if you're not on the positions of the blinds and you have a weak card, the probability of winning is very low. This technique allows to keep the size of his stack, playing only strong hands.

If you compare the game of no limit Texas hold'em game in Sit&Go, it is only time constraints from the beginning to the completion of the entire party and the increasing blinds. Everything else remains almost the same, so if you are a good player of Texas hold'em, you should not be afraid to participate in tournaments, because there you will also be able to Express themselves!

Here are a few tips that you can select when playing in Sit and Go:
1 take care of your stack
2 do not place the bet on the flop with a weak map
3 play tight in the initial and middle stages
4 aspire in any way to live up to the final stage
5 do all-in when the tournament is nearing completion

He write article , thank you for the positive rating.

Tight style - the style of play in poker, which is played a small amount of only the strongest hands. Tight players tend to avoid difficult political situations and to play only very strong made hands.

Interesting and smart theory, I would love to manage to play like this but it is one story pregame and 2nd while playing. I suppose I play 9/10 hand, regardless on cards. It's poker. You always expect good flops so for me there is not often pre flop fold. My advice to others, there is not bad handed cards only bad flop. [emoji3]

Apis the whole theory, but the element of luck, in practice, often stopping to play at full strength, and most importantly stable. Difficult discipline!

That's a great article.

There is a big difference between Normal, Hiper and Turbo Sit&Gos as well.

The faster the blinds go up, the more you have to defend your blinds in order to stay alive until a winning hand comes up.

Nobody could argue against that advice. Tight and agressive early, looser towards the end.

There are absolutely bad hands. It’s pretty basic math. Starting hand strength is exactly that...a measure of the strength of a hand to win against another hand. There are mathematically many more bad flops for 72o when against AA, which means 72 is a bad hand against AA. It is also a bad hand versus KK, QQ, etc. you can’t control the flop but you can control when you put money in to the pot with whatever two cards you have.

Some interesting ideas here. I must make a few adjustments to my style of play in the sit and go tourneys and see if these ideas can help improve my game. Thanks a lot !

I think playing tight is good early but imo you should mix up some bluffs with hands like suited connectors, so you don't become too predictable.

Bingo! Here is the example: https://www.boomplayer.com/26101177_4C02B82097

At this level 2, I already realized that I am better then all on the felt, just had to push up some more. Played risky, on the edge, but that payed out in the end ...

Nice article from the starter :congrats:

When I played, on more pays , I play on my trust, with assured combinations. Time to time you must bluff, when you see that your opponents are thinking.

Play tight in the early stages but play agresive all good hands after the 5 th stage or the blinds will finish you. (For turbo and super turbo)
