I mainly play tournaments and will usually get rid of A/2-A/4 from all early and mid positions.
If I am in the cutoff or highjack I may play them if they are suited, but I find it very hard to read where I am at in a multiway hand. Since ALOT of people play any ace at the micros, are there any good tricks/ideas other then praying for 2 pair?

Because most players in these tournaments play a major card and almost always end up eliminated at the beginning or lose many chips with marginal hands

Sometimes A rag can pay you a lot in cash games or tournaments . Imo when played with many players , in posiiton and suited , especially when you have good stack , can set traps , or else play carefully . Unfortunatelly such a hand I missed :(

Those types of hands you shouldn't be playing from early and middle position, especially when they are offsuit.

dont be results oriented. just because bad players win big hands with trash cards doesnt make it the right play. use position and pot control when playing weak aces. dont get attached to your cards.
its ok to call a short stack with ace rag or to shove on a shorty in the blinds. just be cautious about your position and players to act.

I still like suited ace rags, aiming for the 4 flush, but I can't stand hitting top pair with ace rag and not knowing whether you are ahead or completely dominated. Only play against shorties.

I would not hope too much in this situation.
If possible then I would see what flop gives and then maybe it is worth to play but fold if needed.
Just lost some cents in micro stake limit cash game with AQ vs. AT , 89AAT.

I also agree that you should not be only result oriented!
