Have you ever won a freeroll tournament if the answer is yes, how did you play to win?

My opinion

Yes I have won freeroll tournaments. You fold the good hole cards four times before betting. After that you bet good hole cards every third time.

I did win one for 194$ at Stars. At first I played it very aggressive, but once I got up to the point that I can make it to the final table.., then I started to be tight. ;) TIGHT IS NOT RIGHT. /Antonio Esfandiari/

I'm so close! :D

My best placement in this freeroll is 146.

I've had a bad run today too so I'm excited, any of you playing in this tournament at the moment?

Also wish me luck, Please! :D

Just got KO'd :(

I called a min raise in the BB with Qx and flopped top pair so moved all in and my opponent called with ace high and hit runner runner for the flush. :D

Finished around 250th lol.

I have won a couple freerolls recently. My strategy is semi tight in the beginning rounds. I try seeing flops with pretty much any paint. I play my premium hands strongly, with big bets. I then tighten up and play regular tight poker until we get near the bubble. Then it becomes a shove fest usually because the blinds are so large by this time. If you survive that and make the final table. I again tighten up and wait for good hands.

I hope this helps.

Keep in mind to win a tournament you have to be lucky. You have to put bad beats on others, and survive the bad beats that you will endure. If you keep grinding and put in some time playing a bunch of them you will eventually make a final table, then hopefully eventually snag a win. Good luck.

I have won 3 freeroll tournaments since I returned to playing regularly online in December.

Play tight early on.
Don't try any cute bluffs as most will call you down light.
Bet hands constantly for value for same reason.
Steal blinds late near bubble.
Run good.
Profit.

The main key is to have patience because you will get knocked out by some trash fairly often.

In freerolls involved a large number of random people who came here just for fun, so play such tournaments should be exclusively with a good card.If you do not have a ready hand or a good chance of improvement - fold your hand into the pass.
In the beginning, play tight, See the dynamics change

Play freerolls as much as possible, and one day you will leave with a good amount in your account. In the end, you have nothing to lose!

I've won probably around $1,000 in freerolls (mostly Cardschat) during my poker lifetime and I've lost just as much freeroll money during my poker lifetime.

I have won 1 on ACR, placed Top 20 multiple times.

It's hard to win Freerolls because people play so badly, they shove any suited A or K and end up holding so they think its a good play

I just tried it, shall I bet in the 5th one and then on the 8th? or wait three and bet on the 9th?
I tried that at 4 tables the same time, it only worked once???

I think that freerolls can teach a lot, play for free, gain experience for playing MTT and you can refill the bankroll.:top:

I've finished 1st in 4 freeroll tourneys of several hundred players or more, lots of firsts in smaller freerolls of 200 or less, like CC freerolls.

I won 2 of the PS $100K VIP freerolls (I really miss those), the first one was over 9000 players and the 2nd was 17,750 players (I remember it clearly as it was on Christmas day and it was one of the last of those games as PS got rid of them in the new year).
I also won a small $200 freeroll on 888, about 4000 players and just a few days ago I won one on Playnow, only a 476 player field, but for winning it I got a $320 entry for March 11.
This is the only one recent enough for me to have a pic.

I like to start very tight, but very aggressive with with premium starting hands or big flops.
You get a lot of action early in freerolls while the "any 2 cards" crowd is still around in numbers. If I get off to a big start I'll go back to ABC poker and if I start getting deep it kind of depends how the cards are running and my stack size, I can play super tight trying to level up or aggressive and stealing blinds and getting involved in lots of pots.

That's a great strategy orsino12. It's similar to the cards chat discussion on how to win MTT
