Hi
Since getting to play a lot of free rolls on different tournaments
I am learning a lot
But my problem now is
How to go past the finish line(getting into cashing out)
In a 990 SNG which pays 50 down i end up coming out anywhere between 55-75
Losing out in the last dash

Any ideas or suggestions

Thanks
Manoj

Do you usually end up with a short stack before the bubble ?

1. Never go or take an all-in against a stack larger than you.
2. Never lose all your chips.

3. Never break rule 1 or 2.

The real game begins in the late stage of the tournament. All your game in the previous stages is dedicated to appreciating the last stage.
If the blinds rise so much to affect your chip stack, you get into the main and most important stage of the tournament, called push-or-fold. Here you will either go all-in before the flop, or you will fold.

Push or fold

Hi
Thanks for the input
It’s at that stage I start getting garbage cards which I can’t pay even the BB

Rule 1 stated another way. If there are more people between your position and the bubble than there are after the bubble DO NOT enter a hand preflop where there is an opponent left to act with a stack bigger than yours.

Many do just the opposite and suggest rather than playing tight to make the money the correct play is apply pressure and try to take pots to build your stack. This is where your AA or AK shove will be called by a bigger stack with 89 in the BB and bust you out. I ask why risk the money here but others will say "NEVER fold AA".

If you are on the bubble it gets trickier. You may have to risk your life to avoid busting out.

Your right
There was this instance when I had JJ and was called all in
Opponent had a K4 and ended up winning with 2 pair(k4) on the board

KK vs AK s

Here is another experience I had in a live tournanent
22 players $16.50 buy in for 7000 stack
Rebuy same price same 7000.
Add on $20.00 for 40000
I had 2 re buys so had 50$ invested, didnt buy the add on.

The game was on a break when the 10th player was eliminated.
I was 2nd highest stack, after about 2 hands I got KK blacks, I was the CO.
Utg called BB
Fold fold fold fold I went all in with 130k
Button fold SB fold BB fold
UtG (chip leader) calls all in and shows AK D

Flop D D D turn and river no help and I am busted.

Can you all guide me on what went wron ...
The pay out was
1st place 360.00$
2nd place 220.00$
3rd place 120.00$
4th place 75.00$

This is really painfull when KK loses to AK, I had the same yesterday...
In the other tourney I was close to paid stage and I was shortstack, I got AA and pushed allin.
3 guys called me and I got busted by QJ off that got straight on the river :-(
I have this rule that I never fold KK or AA but I begin to think that sometimes it is a necessary sacrifice in order to get into the paid stage. I still need to mentalise myself for this though coz I find it hard to give up on KK and AA ;-)

How big were the blinds? If you were deep stacked you may have been able to make a small raise then get away after the flop. If the blinds were large relative to your stack, then you are probably just getting busted here every time.

The blinds was 7k 14k

On the flop was 3 Ds no A no K

So if not all in preflop than surely I would have shoved all post flop
Same result

Yeah, if you had ~10bb then you definitely just have to take your chances with KK, not much you can do.

So my question is why are you shoving here?

With 2nd highest stack you don't need to try and steal the blinds an ante's uncontested I think a standard raise of 2-3 BB would be appropriate.

You don't want to be heads up against the bigger stack in this position. If the Big stack with AK re-raised or shoved I would fold the KK, lose my small raise and wait for either other players to be busted and earn more or be in a position to apply pressure to a smaller stack.

Only time you should be looking for a fight with the big stack at the final table, IMHO, is when there are only two of you or you are short stack with less than 4 Big Blinds.
