I'm using two different internet types to ensure there is no disconnect from the tournaments. Has anyone ever had disconnection problems of this type? How did they solve it?

I have already lost countless tournaments due to a drop in connection or because my smartphone battery is gone.

I advise you to avoid entering many tournaments or tournaments of high values if the internet is not 100%, and if it falls you can enter your smartphone to finish playing.

Lately I've played more on my smartphone, and for this reason I end up in situations that get in the way, but I can organize in a way that I do not risk too much to leave to play a larger volume only when I'm on my computer.

The solution is Hotspot from your phone mb data as a back up when wifi has issues.

I sometimes face terrible dc problems at times when I play. I've narrowed it down to

  • possible malware (google removing malware, it's a must to do a complete check atleast once every 3 months or so)
  • other devices connected to network
  • bad weather (rain and such disrupts connection where I am because I use a mobile sim for the net)
I always reset the router using the browser based console when a dc happens. But there are a lot of factors only you can determine specific to your situation. Like your carrier, location, weather, etc. Speak to a hardware technician nearby and see if you can get some ideas from him.

Hi.
If I am having trouble playing poker on a laptop, I always use my own smartphone on which there is a fairly fast mobile Internet. Although in my opinion it is better to have one additional Internet connection provider.
Good luck.

Thank you very much, but the solution will not be as simple as it sounds. I'm going to have to hire an additional internet a little faster.

In late night tourneys, I play mostly on dual sim mobile and I do have a power bank with me. So I never have any issues like network or battery related.

Not sure

I have had this happen to me more than once. It always seem to happen at the worst time. I'm not sure what you can do to stop it for happening. Good luck !

I have high speed internet through my cable company. I rarely have issues and the response time is excellent. I can play 4 at a time with no worries.

I see here only two problems, the first one may be the route and the second one is your internet provider. I was playing at high level when my internet drops out, and the problem was in the router that shitty company gave me, because after I restarted it every time the wifi were starting working in about 5 mins. I lost about 15k$ because of this. It is gonna be about 5 months since I am using the new Asus () router, and I don’t have that kind of problems. Better buy a router by yourself and everything is gonna be fine.

Oh yeah!!! This is a serious problem ... I also lost a lot of money because of my crappy provider. there was such an idea to sue. My advice is to have several internet access points. good luck to you.:pcguru:

Bro this is nothing, when you lose with a flush royal in your hand and 3 players made bet 30k$ this is sad for real.

The solution is simple begin to play on your smartphone. But the problem there is that you can play up to four tables so do not play many tables if your relationship is not very ok.

With the Internet problem can be solved, in extreme cases, mobile Internet is almost always available. But when the lights are turned off, there's nothing to be done, only one way to pass the game to a friend whom you trust.

Here in Panama the electricity will go out more often than the internet will but that will take the router along with it. Also my laptop is an older HP which was top of the line when Specter ENVY was introduced, 15 years ago. Its still an ample and high quality laptop and I do like it, but the internal WIFI antenna is older.

So here are all of the steps I have taken to combat everything related to disconnect:

Installed a WIFI hot spot App on my android phone with data plan. This is my first go to if the cable internet goes down.

Purchased the best battery back up sold at box stores which is designed for use to power computers. With just my WIFI router plugged into it, it will provide power for about 3 hours and keep the internet going in most power outage situations. After about 2 years I had to take it to a battery shop and have them swap out the battery and then it was good as new.

Purchased an inverter for the car and an extension cord. If the power is out for an extended period I start my engine, plug in the inverter, and run an extension cord from it through the window. This will keep the laptop going and charge the phone. I have yet to try it with the WIFI router added on to it but next time the battery back up is exhausted I will. I dont see why it wouldnt work.

Purchased a USB external WIFI antenna with 1200 mb/s speed. I dont think this is the fastest on the market but it was $20 and it reduced inadvertent disconnects which were likely due to an older laptop and not being hard wired into the router.

Also please note that if you do have a cable going into the back of the router that is just hanging out dangling but not connected to anything, remove it. This was messing with my internet speed and stability and it took a while to figure it out.
