Not important what the speed of the tournament, style of game will be the same, only one difference is that push/fold will start earlier.

Of course the speed of the tournament is important. In a turbo format with 5 minute blinds and 3000 to 5000 starting stacks I like to get involved in as many pots as possible early on assuming it's not going to be too big of a percentage of my stack. You can't just sit back and wait for hands to come to you if you want to successful at turbos. Once the blinds start to get higher I like to steal more in turbos than I do in regular Mtts due to not having as many opportunities. I would just play aggressive, but smart and not worry about busting.

Exactly. Speed is a huge factor. Calculated aggression. 3 betting is key in many spots, don't be afraid to dabble some chips around. Also it will be a lot easier to find reads as the variance in playing styles is a lot smaller in turbos, thus players are either aggressive or tight. Look for those aggressive players who tend to bleed their chips a lot, or ones who give up their aggression after the flop or river. These are the most profitable players you'll find in the tables. As for the nits, in low stakes turbos nits seem to be reluctant to fold their preflop monsters even on wet boards, so try not to raise these players, and see flops vs. them as they are usually committed preflop/OTF.

Just play professionally, badbeats is really part of poker tournament life. Just be tight in early and aggressive in middle and late. Dont be afraid of badbeats as long as you do the right thing. Good luck!

Just like Horizon said : no difference beetween turbo and normal speed in gameplay, only push/fold stage starts earlier.

Your gameplay should not be definied by speed of tourney (turbo or normal), but on your opponents on the table... against some its best to be loose, against some you have to be tight... you have to see and judge that all by yourself ;)

Yes, but your opponents play is frequently determined by the speed of the tournament, and therefore so will yours be. It's inevitable. Therefore you will find more advantageous spots sooner in the tourney vs. the mean of the opponents. Gameplay deviates from standard speed.

With the speed of the tournament you will have to put your tournament life at stake several times early in the tournament.

I say your best bet is to just play your game..If you have a good push/fold game than this can be a very fun and beneficial tournament. However if your not so good as push/fold it will give you some great experience to help you get better!

So in my advice id say play it normal early..and sit back and try and be the first 1 to get your money in... you can make a lot of money in poker by just playing against fold equity.. put people at risk.. it makes calling with 2nd pair or worse that much more of a turnoff..

hope this helps and best of luck!

Use position! 3 bet light. If you get 4 bet, fold. Open up your hand range. Value bet draws lightly. Get out of the way of aggressive bets, they usually have it.

final stages MTT Turbo

I always enter in a hand raising not limp (if no ones raise before me sure), but on turbo tournaments they shove all in almost every times I raise 3-4 bb, how should I enter in a hand on final stages of a MTT Turbo ? I mean when average stack is like 15 bb should I play agressive with dominated hands like A5o, A8s, KJo QTo on medium stages ?
sorry for the bad english

You certainly shouldn't be opening to 3-4 BB when stacks are shorted. Since a min open or 2.5x will represent a bigger percentage of their stack it should work far more often as a steal. Study your push/fold charts and try to find some articles or videos on 3-bet shoving.

You can show aggression. Most importantly, the prize area beware.

Just play tight at first and aggro before the bubble.

try to loosen up you game pretty quickly because blinds will eat you stack pretty soon. try to double your stack on a good spot or take chances on coinflip with a medium pair against 1 all in or with hands like ak or aq against 1 player. playing tight wont help you in turbo tournament to make a deep run on the tournament and luck plays a big part to reach the best prizes, so remember to be more aggresive and take chances. good luck.

I find that the speed of play is much greater and have had limited success by using an all in or fold for the early stages and go back to my regular speed if it works out. I don't like the format myself.

Hi guy , is well difficult and complicated answer you in just a message ... but you should study hard range of push and fold , and testuras of boards, so will know what is good for pou bluff to call this kind of tournament has a tight structure , rather steal and re -steal , requires a very different strategy used in the deeps tournaments ... enough trains his short stack too ... will use these techniques more !!!! good luck;)
