I played a few 0.55USD tournaments at pokerstars, the late entry was open for more than 2 hours. I had a lot of ups and downs, I do not like to play like that, I prefer that the inscriptions last a short time.

I do not know how to deal with this time, it influences many aspects in the game. Could someone give me some advice related to this?

I'm thinking of playing more sng with few players, while learning how to improve my game with this part of mtt.

I like to play the hot 600gtd 55c buy in and sometimes I play the bounty builder 55c too,but these tourneys have long late registration;I agree with you that the long time waiting is umcomfortable but we cannot win if we don't wait for the right time to act (these means call and fold) Sometimes I fold QQ JJ or even AA one of these days I fold AA and that was an excelent fold;In the other hand I kept my 55 until the end and got the pot from an agressive player that showed QK in a flop with: 7 7 9 2 J ,I read the table and knew that he was bluffing.

2 hours of late reg is not that long, I'd say that's pretty standard. But in general you should play according to your stacksize and stacks of your opponents at the table and keep in mind the structure of the tournament. Don't pay that much attention to the late reg. Anyway you won't win a tournament in first hour or two, they last way more and you have to focus on your game and your opponent's game.

If you dislike to play in deep stack sizes in reg speed tournaments, you can reg toward the middle of late registration. Or play turbo tourneys (but I personally dislike them cause they have higher variance) but maybe that's alright format for you.

Yeah those long late registrations usually makes me inpatient and in the end i make mistakes just before late reg ends. this is why i join these kind of tournaments 1h after they start it helps me a lil bit but on the other hand many people have huge stack at that time

Yeah you have three options basically: play from the start and slowly build chips. Play from middle of late reg, which is a bit more similar to a turbo type tourney. Or play right at the end of late reg where it's like hyper turbo shove or fold type situatuons

In these ones you have to be really patient. The tournaments are so long. It's like survival in these. It also helps to run good and avoid bad beats. Although I like the turbos a bit better. More fun. Faster pay.

MTT

Some mtt tournaments have a smaller time frame for late registration you can check this prior to entering the tournament.

Often mtt with a higher buy in will have smaller registration times.

There is also nothing wrong with playing sng or other games you dont have to play mtt to be a good poker player or make a good profit.

In early stages You should play tight and looking for double up. That kind of tournaments, espiecially at micro stakes are full of donks

More interesting and 'normal' game start at the bubble :D

I believe that when you play in tournaments with long late registrations, the most important and accumulate the maximum number of possible chips playing tight, until the end of the registration, your chance is higher to reach the final table

Hi all!I'm new here.
Question; is there mathematically a different to win, if you start later?

I also used to dislike these tournaments with long registration windows but since that is almost all ACR offers I have started to get over it. The main thing to realize that in a large MTT it is going to run for a long time and to win you will need to build up your chip stack. So entering early lets you build your chip stack slowly. You can avoid the all-in carnage at the beginning of a lot of the low buy in tournaments by just playing tight aggressive poker.

Late reg

It is important to continue to play just like you would if there was no late reg. Ignore the fact that people can come in late and play normally and patiently. If someone signs up later and you have played solid poker the whole tournament then you have an advantage over them in being able to push them around with a bigger stack.

I used to play this tournaments in BetVictor and were really hard to play them because the late reg finished after 2 hours and every player play too loose and there were too many calling stations.I could win a couple of them, you have to pay really solid at the beginning trying to get good spots for increasing your stack. Here you will have to be aggressive and play with your position. I think position is really important here.

That's the beauty of those tourneys u need a solid play and wait the rest to make a mistake. Lots of ppl making huge mistakes because they start getting tired or they don't have much time or getting bored take advance of that and observe how ur table plays are they play loose or tie. Are they play in position are they bigger stack that u and trying to steel blinds? Also soonest the ref finish lots of ppl are tired and playing very lose so ask ur self in what kind of range they usually play and what u expect to see when u call. Don't just press a button think first. Gl

What I don't like about the long late registration, is the constant preflop allins on every single hand towards the end of registration. Not really playing poker when you have 20+ minutes preflop shoving.

i think you should play it safe until registration are over. specially if there are rebuys. people will go crazy trying to double up.

Yeah i agree that late reg is annoying but in micro stakes its fine,2 hours is nothing compared to late reg in high stakes

Get in their early and get that stack growing late reg you are closer to the money but the whales with huge stacks are going to push you around even if you are the biggest shark good luck.

I have a friend who likes to play this kind of tournaments, he registers just one minute before the closing, and with a bit of luck he enters ITM, a couple of times he has reached the final table.

do they offer re entry or is it rebuy ..... Ram all in over and over till your in first place
then look at the biggest stack on the table and push on him every time he enters the pot AA KK blah J4 suited will do until late reg is over ..
then when the blinds get bigger nobody will try to steal your chips
because you're CRAZY
you get a thrill out of cracking Aces with uguly hands ..
so if they try anything they should be in a tighter range

fire some bullets man

warning this may be a very bad idea lets try it with your money ..

It is preferred, so there are many types of tournaments and there are the characteristics of the tournaments in the lobby before registering, all the guaranteed tournaments have that late registration time

I always preferred begining the game at the start. Some times if somebody gonna play good option the late registration. But all time on late registration to much wiseacre player online. Must play hard, and focus on the chip roll.

I see 2 factors before registering in a tournament: how much is the late registration and how often the blinds increase, if the registration lasts 2 hours or more and the blinds are every 10 minutes I register when it has already passed 40 minutes or 1 hour of tournament, blinds change in less time then I register before, there are people who prefer to play from the beginning to accumulate more chips (that says a friend), but the main thing is to have patience and not be so pending when it is late registration, focus on make a good game
