The problem with your question Anderson, is that its too vague. Maybe if you posted some of the hands that you go out on or are crippled in at this tourney stage, some members will give their input on how it was played.

Based on what your saying, coolers and falling short, Its quite commen if your talking 180 players or more.
I struggle from bad beats in my turbo games

firstly turbo variance is sick in a tournament your better off playing 10 min blinds, you will often need to take a few gambles to come up with the goods (win a few close calls maybe even suck out on a big hand)

if your good enough you may be able to win by getting payed off by bead players and stealing orphaned pots late in the game

if your table is weak and your being allowed to take down blinds and see flops,
just keep taking stabs at the pot when first in (OOP) and when they check you raise (be careful not to become to predictable or do it too often) incase players are brave enough to exploit you or looking to push at any given time.

but yea dont be affraid to jam your chips in with suited connecters and broadways in position any ace, (always jam your chips in late stage if you have instincts or a gut feeling)

Just remember you can afford to push on smaller stacks near FT because alot of the time theyl be folding so it will be close to a break even situation when u account for being called.
if they do call - you have 90k and lose 38k , your left with 42, (potentially 15-20 blinds) , just relax wait for a good hand (chances are you will get one and you push it) if called, your 50 - 50 to double up, every time they dont call your gaining 2.5k - 5k
No fear ;)

Try this to get some "practice" at final table.

Play in Single Table Sit n Go's

This will give you feel and experience of a FT

Maybe if I'm severely short stacked and have a guaranteed heads up match.

Possibly playing too wide of a variety of hands deep? original post is pretty vague though. It's all about position late in tournaments

How many tourneys and are you usually short-stacked?

How are you doing percentage wise? If 100 are ITM and you final table 9%, that's okay. It's average.
If 20 ITM's, final table 9% then somethings wrong.

I got the same problem.I chip up quickly in the early stages of a MTT and struggle to play a big stack.I try not to bully as I find a lot of short stacks push allin with any 2 cards and usually my AK or JJ gets beaten with 10 7 lol.
How do I change my late stage game?
