Maybe you should just wait for a monster hand and and shove whenever the villain making a raise.Avoid confrontation with the bigger stack if you not sure with your hole card because you dont want to risk your whole stacks.

How I play each hand would be different because it depends on more things than just a chipleader who is aggressive.

It's generally expected that the chip leader and other big stacks play aggressive. They can obviously afford to see more flops and even lose a few hands without it denting their chip stack to severely. Also playing more hands gives them more opportunities to get lucky, hit a fortunate flop, and increase their stacks even more.

My strategy is not to try to out agro and aggressive player. Instead I try to keep it tight and pick my spots. Aggressive players often lose their stacks the same way they built them up in the first place, by being aggressive and taking chances. I will usually wait for a strong starting hand. If I connect with the flop, I will let them try to bully me out of the pot before shipping my stack on them. Keep in mind that we may have differing opinions as to what constitutes a strong starting hand. I'm not talking about sitting around getting blinded off, waiting of A-A or K-K.

While it can be dangerous to tangle with a big stack, they are, in my opinion, the best source for chips. After all, you can't double up through a player that only has one-fifth your chip stack. You're not going to win a tourney by sitting there letting a big stack bully you. You're going to have to take a chance at some point. You just have to be smart and make it count.

I have the same problem of getting to the final table and then holding onto a chip lead when I have it. For me it can almost feel like a momentum swing, where maybe I get in a little deeper than I should on a hand and lose. Then it will just snowball. Like is quoted above though, you just have to pick your spots and sometimes get a little lucky.

Always try and put pressure on the blinds as they will surrender it to you most often. Try and 3bet weak players in position, you can also try and bluff them if the need arises but be wise about it. Try to not get involved with other big stack with a marginal or decent hand. Try to play aggressive with draws post flop and put maximum pressure on smaller stacks.

I think it is a common misconception that the big stack's "job" is to bully the short stacks. Maybe it's just my style or philosophy, but I don't really attack the short stacks too much. I let the short and medium stacks take eachother out while I steadily chip up, slowly chip up in a safe and easy way. I look for spots to win "no conflict" chips. I mean, we've already built the chip lead so there is no need to take a bunch of risks NOW...at least that is the way I feel about it.

I also avoid the big stacks like the plague. I pick on medium stacks when I'm in position.

Example from my game: If a couple of medium stacks limp I'll make a big raise in position with a speculative hand like T9s. If a medium stack frequently raises light in mid position I'll 3bet them light with a big stack in position. If you put a short stack or a big stack in either of those equations, I probably just fold. If another big stack opens from the cutoff and I have ATs on the button, I will probably just fold. But if that was a medium stack, I would probably 3bet.

it depends how your image is, if your a loose player, your going to get alot of calls. people are going to be more prone to bet when you check and call/fold to your raise on the flop or maybe even all the way to the river. But your in control, so the only power they have to an advantage is if they bust you on a stronger hand. when people get more chips they play more loose. if its a slow tournament and blinds are going slow, usually you have to wait a few rounds to start opening up aggressive because of how much value youll be giving away calling and raising hands against stacks that are way smaller. usually when your up you got time to note other players and you can strategize steps before they do.

I don't like to waste chips, so I generally try not to act like a bully. But it also depends on what the other chip stacks are on the table versus my stack. If I have, say, 250,000 chips, and nobody else has more than 100,000, I might shove on a speculative hand to try to force them into a decision, and I'm definitely shoving with 1010 pairs or higher, or an Ace with at least a Jack kicker. I figure people are going to get tight when facing elimination.

I try not to play aggressive against a high stack, because I fear him more than the normal stack. With premium hands I try often a all in and hope that he will call. And when I'm chip leader I also don't play often hands and wait till I get good hands, I don't really try to steal some blinds.

Play aggressive in preflop (raise, 3bet), specially with low stacked players. Try bluff often than usual and slowly keep grow up your stack.

Whenever I'm in FT and I'm short, all in any A with second card greater than 6! With Kx, depends on the villain.
