1. Are you placing or making a final table 1 out of every 10 tourneys? Less or more?

2. Play for a big stack and take chances? or fold more often and fight the blinds?

3. What can we do to place more often? I'm still working on this strategy....

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. I make a final table or place about 1-2/15 tourneys... (Not enough)

2. I find that playing for a big stack leaves you out the tourney early most times, and not getting to the money. When I fold more I make the money more. I mix it up, but lately I've been playing for a big stack. Not working out lately though. I made 4th in a freeroll the other day. But this is not good enough results for me.

3. I gotta fold more and only play the top 5% hands instead of the other crappy +90%. Gonna try going back to folding more. This should help me place more often than playing loose for the big stack and the insurance.

It depends how big the tournaments are. If you are playing nice sized fields then 25-30% cash rate is pretty good. Then 5-10% final table and 2-3% win seems awesome, but I may be worng

I certainly believe you do play for a big stack.

The reason you may be leaving early is that you are going with the wrong hands.

You are trying to separate "folding more" from "playing for a big stack" when they are one in the same. That is the whole idea of TAG. You fold more, but you need to get very aggressive with the hands you do play. Loose poker is not "playing for a big stack", its just playing loose. Either one can get you there but a loose game is much more difficult and requires a higher skill set.

My suggestion would be to start off folding more (playing tight) at the beginning of a tournament. Once the antes start and there is more money out in the pot you then need to start to loosen up and expand your range slowly. You don't need to call raises with 67 but you can start calling KQs, QJs, weaker aces like AJ, A10. As the blinds and antes keep going up your range just keeps expanding because, simply put, there is more to win which gives you the odds to play more hands.

Just keep adjusting you game little by little, but what is going to get you a big stack at the end and allow you to have deeper runs is good hand selection with bigger bets.

I always play for the "big stack",,,,when i first started back playing online,i would play TAG,but i hated waiting for that big hand only to be taken out by the LAG at the table,so now i play for a stack to take out "variance" abit, steal blinds,check-raise,all-ins,be a little annoying to get what i like to call the "FU" call.:p and try and find the biggest ego at the table and push his buttons,,,show a few bluffs, set'em up,knock'em down! ;) Be creative.Hard to play,,,

You can't win a big tournament in the first 3 hours that was the biggest lesson I learned, although now i'm restricted to playing freerolls on acr the fields are so soft im cashing at least once every 3-4 days i only get to play 2 a day.

10 %

I would say about 10 to 12 % of the time I do get pretty deep in the tournaments that I play. I slow down when I get a big stack and pick my spots to get aggressive and steal a few chips.

Only played in 4 tournaments since I came back as an active member just recently. Cashed in 1 and just missed the money in another. I'm not playing for the big stack early in the tournament, if it comes to me then so be it, but it is not something I set as an objective early in a tournament. As far as strategy, be patient, play your strong hands aggressively, utilize position and table image to attack blinds when the opportunity presents itself; and "live long and prosper".

When you say "final table" do you mean ITM? I classify any tournament that I reach the money as a win. I have gotten there 25% of the time in buy-ins of under $100 and 30% with buy-ins of over a $100. My overall ROI is 136%. I focus more on ROI as this tells me if I make money or not. 1/10 "cashes" is only 10% AND unless your pulling down top spot money then its simply not good enough.

2. Play for a big stack and take chances? or fold more often and fight the blinds?
I tend to fold alot and pick my spots, I am not playing for a big stack simply because it seems I can't ever get players to fold to raises.
3. What can we do to place more often? Tight is right in my play

I have a hard time getting to the final table in tournaments, if I have achieved it, but I am not as sure as I would like, there are things that I have to improve from my game, from 10 tournament I do 2 final tables or 1 at a time

Hey guys thanks for all the replies. I placed in a CC freeroll earlier on intertops. My first cash so far with CC. I also just now won a CHP freeroll on coinpoker. 1st out of 375. Folding paid off for sure. And when it was time I just went with my streaks. My rushes as Doyle would say. I read Super System 2 like 10 years back. It helped alot at the time. I might revisit soon! I'm feeling good about playing the right way. Playing for a big stack is not the way. It may get you far sometimes but playing out the tourney with only good hands and a few good bluffs here and there does the trick. Now if I can only keep that CHP that I have. I think it's about $500 worth of CHP and CHP (Etherum) is supposed to more than double by 2019. So this may be a good investment. I hope I can build it. But I'm gonna stay away from cash games. They always kill my young bankrolls.

Anybody out there have any recent success? Any tips with bankroll management? Stick to just the freerolls for now? And slowly build the CHP?

(EDIT: I could be wrong it might be like $60 worth of CHP) 🤠

1. I enter the final table of 1 / ~ 20 ~ 25 tournaments. But there is a difference between the cash and free. The money still get held up. Maybe it's something psychological.

2. I think that the tournament should start a super-tight, but it all depends on the players at your table. If table play aggressively - you waiting for cards, if they are waiting for cards - you need to be agressive.

3. I'm so 5-10% of hands)

MTT Variance

Ive only ever had a final table twice, playing pokerstars micro MTT. I also find that SnG are easier to play.

I still need to work on my MTT strategy though, as I think I’m terrible. I’ll wait for fairly premium hands and get blinded out. By the time a decent hand comes, I’ll double up for not much or lose to a river card. Currently working on changing my game though, and getting better at reading the table.

Just practice and study!

I've been playing for the free rolls on CoinPoker since the beginning when there were only 40 players. I've built a pretty healthy bankroll. Almost 10.000$. However, I try to stay away from high stakes, since I'm not a very good player. I seem to be doing much better in free rolls. As long as you have the free rolls, I say stick to them. When they're gone try lower buy in tournaments. The level is much lower than poker stars, 888, since most players are crypto currency enthusiasts.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

I like coinpoker it is a pretty decent site so far. I've been playing on intertops too. I really like intertops and the freerolls that they offer.

I just got 3rd in a Freeroll with like over 300 players. I also played a $1.10 (100 garunteed) and won it out of 36 players.

Slowly building a few bankrolls. I really like tournaments better than cash games. You don't have to risk alot and you can win decent money.

Been folding alot and having luck lately holding up. I wish everyone else goodluck as well. Tourneys seem to be the best way to build.
