As of a lot of player I do not cash deep enough in MTT enough for me to consider this profitable play. Yes I have had some nice cashes in MTTs and yes I do cash (at least covers your BI) say 1 in every 5 MTTs. But as the first stages of cash outs aren't amazingly big (lets say 1.5x BI - 3xBI).

So with abit of honesty I was wondering how often you worth while (atleast 5xBI) cash?

I understand MTTs are extremely high varience.

10% itm is standard if the MTTs you play pay the top 10%.

Your goal in MTTS should be to win. As long as you're making the most optimal decisions to get you to the final table and the win, you're itm finishes don't really matter. You can min cash 20x before winning an MTT. This isn't bad, but it isn't going to build your BR but it helps. Think of it as BR padding.

Look at the graphs of top MTT players. They'll have long strings of min cashes/busts before a big win. Shaun Deeb had once gone 52 games in a row with a $100 min cash in between wins. That's a 51 game downswing playing some of the highest buy-ins. So, what you're going through is pretty standard. Keep grinding.

not a huge fan of the itm stat, think roi and $/hr are more relevant

Agree with all but the latter. ITM % is irrelevant in MTTs. It is completely possible to have a 40% ITM in MTTs and still be a losing player. ROI % is what you can conclude things off of.

$/per hr in MTTs isn't really something to focus on, $/per game is. In cash games, $/per hr is more relevant imo.

I agree 100% if your looking at someones MTT stats for staking for example ROI % is much more relevant than ITM.

So for tournemant players im looking for stats somewhere around 10% ITM with a high enough ROI, players with a low ROI meaning they are a loosing player?

For me as a player that hasn't got a great RIO% at all the staking that I've been given has boosted my confidiance a lot and it shows that people who are experience bad swings still have people that can back them and give them a shot. for me it would be RIO as per Cashed MTT's as people have said can make you have a lot of min cashes and not a lot of wins better to win than min cash

I say 1 in every 5 MTTs , your goal in MTTS should be to win 1st place but you can't win it every time. How often i do cash on MTT - not enough. :D

What is a good sample size for review when it comes to SNG, like say for cash you would want 25k+

I am 100% ITM so far in MTTs this month. :D But I've only played in 4 of them lol. Still looking for a big score though this month. So far it's nothing to get too excited about. ITM is not nearly as important as ROI obviously for MTTs since min cashes just aren't worth the time and effort. So tomorrow I shall again attempt to make a final table.

It seems like this can be heavily determined by your play type and the amount of variance you should expect to see. A higher variance player, may see looooong droughts, matched up which a small amount of deep runs and big scores. It is always a big possibility that too small a sample size keeps us from seeing accurately our expectations, and can bank too much on a few outcomes

all about the time invested good thing is that there are a lot of tournaments with very high guaranteed prizes are not as long as amount of time invested , says that cash is more profitable than MTT but if you put on a table cash you sit down with $ 100 in about 4 hours you have between 300 and $ 500 would be a very good table that did it, now you enter a tournament that you like more tournaments come in with $ 22 or more input and also have a good day get final table receive a prize of 10k or 5k that you think most profitable time / money, always variance and you can not win every tournament but if you can try to play well at all and probably have good profits , there is much talk that the improving cash game but in the end it is not if you're a better player than the other custion is whether your earnings are better than the other

A good mtt player will only be ITM around 10-20% over a large samples . The important thing in MTTs is making the deep runs where you do cash count . Being profitable in tournament poker comes down to being able to get top 3s , as that is where all the big payouts for every level of buyin will be . MTTs have a lot of variance so big swings to the + and - will be had , but try and make your deep runs count is the key to making MTTs profitable .
