Maybe to not play that type of tournaments... or just drink coffee or red bull after 2h to get your mind right.

Try to something really different during the breaks (like taking a walk outside).
And if you get bored after 2 hours, you should play tournaments that don't last that long.

Sometimes I play with a friend (who knows poker) by my side, it helps a lot! When I get tired he takes the mouse for a while.
If you play alone you need patience and don't look too far from the beginning! If there are 4000 players final table is many hours away, first try to get to the payments and then step by step think that for every 50-100 players that leave prizes are getting bigger...

maybe tourneys are just not your cup of tea? There is a reason people prefer cash or sng or even spin'n'go. Try to play a different format.

Watch a Movie or Eat Some Food or Brush Your Dog

its always better to focus less on the poker tournament at hand, so that you don't allow your emotional bias or superstitions to skew your judgement. It is important that you judge each hand from a rational perspective and so, although it seems contradictory, giving less attention to the game means you will care less and will take more chances and it also helps because you feel less like punching a wall when you bust out

If you get bored during tourneys you should Watch some videos on youtube, watch a poker stream on twitch or come to cc forum and read some posts and respond to some in between hands.

There's no magical davice that's going to help you unless you work on your discipline. And that's going to help a lot with both your boredom, and general poker skills considering patience and discipline are one of the greatest signs of a genius poker player.

You also could try multitabling, so you always have some more action during a long tourney.

Watching a poker stream helps a lot for that kind of stuff, but you do have to keep observing your tourneys for info, but try using the scheduled breaks to move a little and distract yourself!

What if you play more tournaments in different time, that way you have like 4 open tables with different stages each, maybe that helps to keep you going?

Anyway good luck

Hey there
Well off-course you need patience
and my secret to keep me focused is before every hand i try to think if this was my first hand in this tournament would i play it or not, am i playing it because i'm hopeless and haven't got a good hand in a while or because it's really good. and if u have been playing for 2 hours, just try to reboot yourself and consider as if you have just started this tournament with a huge boost because you have much less players left and much more money.
and one more thing i do pretty often because i rarely play in early-mid positions so i play 1-3 hands out of nine, for that i always keep myself busy with small sit and go tournaments (90 players) or spin and goes.

Hi FITZ. You really need to work out why you get bored at the two hour mark? What has changed from the first 30 minutes, or how you felt at 75 minutes. Once you know the answer to this question, then you can modify your game..... either by playing shorter tournaments, or removing the thing hat makes you get bored.
Generally, it's a case of planning ahead. If you are about to play a tournament that is going to last for say four hours, make sure you are ready to play for four hours. Don't just set aside time for two hours and then give up (get bored) at two and throw your game away.
Remember. Your focus is one of the most important aspects of playing poker..... if you can't keep it going that long, play shorter tourneys.

Best Wishes

BB

How about going over your basic math and trying equity calcs without using an equity calc? Trying to peg players on certain hands while they play can be a really good way to keep yourself from getting bored. There are times I make boneheaded plays if I do something else to keep me occupied I feel, especially if I go on a long dry spell without good cards.
