Before the hand, I was big stack by a long shot, shortly after however I ended up busting with AA vs 99, (went all in pre-flop) right on the bubble ( villain caught a straight), Bursting the bubble sadly, when I was big stack a few hands before that.

I understand he had top pair, but to risk you whole tournament with a paired 7 is beyond me.

So now I'm here wondering how somehow I was able to stay on top of the tournament the whole time up until the bubble comes up? Any advice about maintaining your stack? I always somehow end up getting sucked out on against worse cards and a catch on the river.
Any advice is welcome, please provide insight on the hand as well.

In first hand only check/fold , shove is bad move , when in pot one already all in and one villain have stack... We not have value in this shove , because in pot no chips what you can win , when you bet vs villain....

Second hand its only cooler...

first hand
Your bet on the flop is really bad. You have nothing. Not even A high. And you know that you are gonna be called fairly light. So I agree with check/fold.

Generally with a big stack I tend to see many flops, especially if price of the flop lower than 2% of my stack. And fit or fold on the flop.

But it is very dependent on the situation. If I see, that somebody picked up on my fit or fold and tries to abuse it, then I play back.

In a freeroll it is hard to play the norm, but what I figure is that people play solid cards until I see that they are morons... so if i have 67 and there is a raise and a call or two i am going to assume i am good if the flop is 4 6 9 , because i put them on big cards... I am not always right, but in freerolls have to gamble deep to get the chips... I gamble early and have a lot of problems cashing...

You risked it on a draw, he had a made hand and a straight draw, then he got lucky on the river, would you be so upset if your club didn't hit.

I myself often lost to such a situation, I think that the situation there is hildren troubles bits and are less common than not to occur, and with aces still will be more successful

I tend to take my foot off the gas a little when I am big stack or even with a very comfortable stack, probably why I tend to cash 3rd 4th more often than win. I also have the problem of getting in with AA and losing to a two outer,etc.. the big consideration to me is how many short stacks there are and the general table composition. I will stay aggressive in position but I will avoid play big pots til the bubble bursts. Also, at the final table I evaluate how aggressive people are playing and may play conservative til 5 handed then your aggression is given more credit due to earlier tight play. If there is a couple of very aggressive players raising every pot it seems natural to play back at them right away but sometimes works to wait til one of them loses a big pot and you have a premium hand

You need to know what type of players in the hand with you.
What do you put them on ? and do you think your ahead Preflop ?
The guy with 78s has 2 to 1 pot odds and has put you and the other guy on big cards. hes looking for a good double up or more. small board and hes in.
7 players at the table is not a short table. the table needs to be 6 or less for the K to hold more value preflop.
Having seen the hand he chose to play to a raise on the bubble plays more of an effect on the other players then just him winning with 78s. it tilts others and makes them mad because players are only worried about the money and when they see what they think is weak play it makes them mad .
It was really a good move by him 4 cards out of the top of the deck ( 10 and above) and his cards are open. he hits a pair hes good flush or straight in many different ways compaired to K10 or Q10. he has more outs to make his hand with 5 cards.
He hits now and wins and the other players go on tilt because they are playing good cards and hes playing good poker. Only he can tell you why that was time for that because of his style and how he enterprets what the table is doing and so on .
Not letting things like that hurt your play after you take a hit and regrouping will make your game so much stronger.
Try telling yourself it happened that was that and now its a new hand and now I have to get back them chips . Now how and when can I do this. What has changed and what hasnt from my reads , has any one changed gears, gone from playing to folding and staying out of pots unless a big hand or sb , bb ?
Go from there and keep moving on. What effected you is what the player played and not how and why he played the hand. Understand that and tilt and emotion will be of less of a problem for you.
Good Skill at the Tables

If you think he made a bad decision, what's the problem? You want opponents to make bad decisions, and he did.

Your job is to make the best possible decisions. Maybe you should focus on the quality of your own decision-making instead of merely bemoaning your fate when questionable decisions don't work out in your favor.
