Oh man. The bubble turns me into a fold fold fold fold fold fold fold player. I can't stand putting time into a tournament and then going out on the bubble.

Usually aggressive around bubble, and keep applying pressure after the bubble. Unless I am short stackish then I might wait for a hand to push with. Majority of the time though, i am decent stack. I will take position and stack sizes into consideration and that helps me figure out how aggressive I should be. I love the bubble. I find myself if I dont bust, that is usually where I set myself up good to run deep taking advantage of people being scared to bust before being ITM

I am pretty close to being in the head space as JPoling.
Only difference being that if I am somewhat short stacked I might try to wait out the short stacker depending on how close they are to going out.
After the bubble it is pure aggression all the way.
The bubble is great if you are the largest stack at the table and can force the short stackers to either get it all in or try to wait it out to get in the money.
People using their time bank when they are in this position drive me crazy but I understand it because on several occasions I have done the same thing but online only.

like fuba said, it really depends are your stack size, and image.

but yes, you wanna be agggro in LP when you can steal , and pick up some nice blinds before the bubble when everyone just keeps folding. just make sure you be cautious when a villain playsback at you,

It's according if I'm big stack or short stack. If I'm short stacked I'll def play tight near the bubble.Big stack I'll push more near the bubble against small or medium stacks. After the bubble passes I'll play more conservative because everyone loosens up after the bubble.Final table I like to be more aggressive.

When it comes to bubble time I fold anything less than AK. I have been working on some things though. I fold every hand and basically blind myself out. When I finally make it to the money I am short stacked and barely make it. I have recently changed my style and get aggressive around the bubble. It has worked out pretty well. I still cannot make a final table, but I can make it to the top 20 or so.

If the bubble is coming up, I play tight until we're literally one or two spots away from the bubble, and then I start jamming any hand that holds more than 50% equity against a random hand (depending on position of course). The bubble is the time to take advantage of all those tight players hoping to squeak into the money.

Agree with the 2-4/5 posts

One thing I'd like to point out... when on that shorter stack turn it to your advantage.
Be careful as people will want to bust you and get ITM sooner/safer (sometimes)
Other will take your push as a sign of strength as they assume you are trying to cash not bubble.
Moreover you often have a lack of FE at this stage when short especially as Antes are decent sized at this time.
--- aka player profiling is more essential than your hand strength at this stage I feel.

start loosening up if I have an above average stack and start being more conservative if i'm short but still going to be making profitable shoves. Will continue to play to win after the bubble is burst.

Anything can and will happen in the bubble. Just take a look at the smc monthly from 3th of August. I am second at a point with 5 players left and 4 goes in to the money but I was given a hughe bubble lesson from drazza, mc vapors, katyushka and donkeyhead.

As a small stack, shoving preflop on the button or in cutoff if everybody folds to me.
As a medium stack, 3-bet shoving a smaller stack if they raise 2x or 3x.
If a big stack, trying to steal the blinds to increase my stack even more.

I agree with everyone on depending on how you are stacked. I have found though if i am short stacked i usually will gain a few good blinds to keep me going around the bubble. If I have a fairly good stack I play aggressive to get those players out and to stack up more

I can see this happening at times as well.. I hate when you are in a 4 or 5 hour tournament and you just want to play those good hands but know that bubble is right there staring you down.

i would persdonally nver put a cap on my range like AK+ like he was saying above. thats ridiculous, depending are your stack size: if your big stacked use the oppurnities to bully s bit snd buld thst stck up, if short, fold fold fold, till its time to throw em in

Frankly, at the end of the day you have to play your game. But a good and great player melds that with the math and ranging. End of story.

Personally I play aggressiv when it comes close to the bubble. I didnt start playing the tournament so I could just get itm, I started playing to win the tournament. Thats why I stay aggressive, especially in this phase of the game.

Agressive play in position with a decent stack , with a small stack i will shove all in in position with any 2 big cards.
If the tournament has a big buy in i will be less agressive with high-medium hands

if you have a big stack you play aggressively to steal the pot.raise,3-bet and c-bet tha flop
when you have a short stack i think its better to play only premium hands and make it in the money

True...very true...this is something I should work on. It still scares me because I've seen big stacks go from hero to zero in a couple of hands.
