How far do you think playing tight is convenient?

If you're lucky and keep getting fantastic hands that don't get beat, you can go all the way and win the tournament. However, for the other 99.99% of the time, you're going to have to take some chances with less than premium hands or blind out long before the final table.

As for me i try to play only strong hands, such as AA,KK,QQ and try to see flop.

I like to see flops when over 40 BBs deep... ie the first few levels. When up against a known TAG early on in a MTT... I will flat preflop with 50%+ of hands in position. Basically I treat it like they have an overpair and Im trying to crack it. Only works when you have implied odds (deep stack behind)

Depends whether I'm playing against strangers or known players. If against strangers I play very conservatively untill I can get a sense of what type of player I'm up against. When not involved in a hand I will be watching every move they make like a hawk. If I'm in my local club where I know most the players and their style of play I play the player more than the cards.

Best move I saw was by Phil Ivey. Can't remember which tournament, but it might have been the Aussie Million. Flop came JJx. Villan bets and Phil 2 bets him. Villain 3 bets and Phill 4 bets and villain folds. Neither of them had a J.

At the beginning of tournament the chips are not worth much, they are almost worthless but your tournament life is still at risk because it is NLH.

At all stages of the tournament and does not depend on whether it is MTT or SNG

At all stages of the tournament and does not depend on whether it is MTT or SNG, I play on the starting hands chart. I think this chart was created in order to maximally protect the player from moving. The only thing from which the player is not insured is Bad Beat. Bad Beat has always been and will be no matter if it's live poker or online poker. A chart of starting hands helps to minimize your stack risk. I'm sure many will not support me, but from the moment I started to play on the chart of starting hands I began to achieve better successes than when I played as I thought necessary

Disagree ! Early stage small pairs , sluting collecter n drawing hand are more valuable ! Cheap price to draw a monster to win alot chips !

Big hand Q's + only have < 50 % power at early stage ! U raise too much ,no 1 call !raise not much , other players cheap price to call ! U will lose alot chips if they hit their monster … but only win small pot !

At the beginning of the tournament I try to play only with good hands the range is very small, then it all depends on how you will enter the card.

I play cautiously until I get a read on the table. I play very strong hands and try not to get caught playing against the eager opponents who can’t wait to try and build their stack. Basically I wait until the initial frenzy has calmed down and then play smart. I slowly build my stack wait for cards and position to be in my favour and then play with conviction. If I see an opportunity to take someone out I will but not unless I’m sure or if they have a small stack compared to mine and losing will not put me in a bad position. Some risk is necessary at first. Then after the first break I tighten up and only play really solid hands right up until the bubble bursts. Once I’m in the money then I loosen up a bit but still play smart. I play aggressive and with conviction because that way is someone calls a large bet or raises me then I know they most likely have a good hand. Hope this helps...good luck all.

it all depends on the players at the table, but in any case very carefully (cautiously in my cases does not mean tightly), because at the beginning of the tournament a lot of inadequate players !!!
