I'd like to know how others manage their bankrolls for those that pretty much exclusively play MTTs. I'd especially like to hear from those who don't use any poker trackers or anything data analysis....wise. How many buyins do you require in your bankroll to play at specific MTT buyin levels for good bankroll management?

depends say if you only play 45 mans then the varence will be a lot less then let say 2 k player mtt . what I base mine around is i think im 30% edge based on my stats -10% fees think my roi is around average 20% on sharkscope so then i take that number times it by amount of players in mtts im playing so it like 45x.2=9 45-9 =36 buy ins this is only playing with small mtts feald , as of thousands of players thats where what i just said goes out the window for the varance is very high and you need to play your a+ game to start to finish to run deep. a 45 man is like 90 min. then there are some mtts are 5to12 hours. you could be 70/30 10 times in a row out of that 10 time on average your still going to loss 3 of them and if you are covered then its game over. different amount of players there is different formula, the 45 man is just what i would use for between 30 and 200 players where heads up you can be 50 50 to win but still loss 10 or 20 times in a row if you are really unlucky , i looked once and the highest wins back to back is in there 40 to 50 wins in a row

well ive read around that you need atleast 100 buy ins for tournaments.i currently only have $1.17 towards my bankroll that i won off a freeroll.thats only 2 buyins for the stakes i wish to play in the future (0.55 cent mtt) ive been trying to grind up a bankroll without depositing and just playing freerolls. although i dont use a hud right now i plan on downloading one as soon as im done writing this post lol. without being able to track your hands and talk about them i feel like it makes improving your game a much harder task. if you ever want someone to talk hands with just pm me or post on my bankroll building thread. mtt's are real tough due to the variance so us mtt players need all the encouragement we can get:D

usually when over 100 dollars in my bank I usually play tournaments from $ 5.50 to $ 11 because they are more regular!

the 180 MTT in pokerstars are a good start; you can play them from .25ct, 1 dollar, 1,5 etc. they last for 3 hours usually and pay out is as from 27.

I would say if you play with a BR of 30 x the buy in, so starting with 7,50, you should be able to gradually build a BR that allows you to play higher stakes, but only when you do it very disciplined and seriously.

Just always having 40 buy ins or more...

If the buy in is more than 1/40th of your bankroll, move down stakes.

It's standard bankroll protection.
