Ohh – she’s definitely under my skin at this point! I didn’t say anything nasty to her, I just got up and left (it was all I could do though), but the whole drive home I was gripping the damn steering wheel and swearing out loud! She plays like she is drunk and has been known to drink at the table, but she wasn’t this day (that I noticed anyway), and she played exactly the same way. I play her every weekend and watch her get busted by the 6th level the majority of the time – except for these times when she runs so good and I always seem to get in the way!
She’s an Ex-Broncos cheerleader, so she’s not unattractive, but that just adds fuel to the fire! This has got to be the single most frustrating situation I have ever dealt with in poker – hell, in life!
I could have jammed pre but…
My thinking there was (and I took a minute or so to act when the action came to me) “If I push she’s going to put me on AK and call”. She loves to call AK and calls it the “man’s hand” since men think “it’s bigger than it is”; you know “it’s a good drawing hand but that’s all” – (that’s what I have to deal with every week). Since I don’t have AK normally that would be good, except with her. I know exactly what her range is here; she’s not capable of three betting early with air, so in hindsight and I think I should have flatted and check/folded. With the
on the board the only hand she could have that doesn’t beat me now is queens, maybe tens.
I still had a nice stack; I could’ve lost $7500 and moved on! But I chose to basically shove pre, even though I technically didn’t shove pre – I did, because I wasn’t folding after putting 85% of my chips in the pot!
After she put 55% of her chips in the middle, in a situation that a Martian would have known he was way behind, and sucked out she looks at me and says “sorry I didn’t think you were that strong”. Which just pissed me off more…God; I don’t understand how more people don’t get killed at the poker table; especially players like this!
