If you are regreferring to a live tournamemt many tables have built in card shuffelers that mechanically shuffle the cards under the table, these cards are then cut and then dealt as normal, one at a time to each player until they have the correct amount for the given game. If these auto shuffelers are not present the dealers shuffel the cards by hand no differently than how you or I would shuffel then proceed to cut and deal the cards as normal. Now if you are referring to online poker the process works like a random number generator where each card correlates to a number in a pool which is then randomly chosen and dealt out according to the game being played. Hope that helps, its all pretty straight forward.

In online poker two types of practice is popular. One is static and other is dynamic. Ask your poker client about their procedure.

I know I asked pkr years back, they cut the new deck of cards in half than put each card on top of each other from half deck to the other half deck than they cut the cards in 3 than did the same and dealt the cards, i asked just because i was being called with other players with weak hands, but they must of been playing for a while to know what cards to play on the site, it seem that the cards i was getting repeated every hour or so.

Online it appears some sites have software that deal high card hands relentlessly eg pokerstars, others eg ACR the cards come in a more natural sequence.

It online you really do not get any options, but in live play shuffle 3-4 times and get it going. For the flop 3 cards down first then flip at the same time. I hate the one by one flipping.

RNG's (random number generators) are the engine of the deal. There are a lot of variations on how the RNG's are used. My favorite would be a RNG which builds a table of card values then a 2nd RNG which picks from that table. A routine like that could be run deeper and deeper, so that any number of RNG's are involved in a single deal.

Stars seems to vary its RNG routines randomly. They will NEVER tell you what RNG routine they are using, nor how often it changes, and certainly never tell you its details. The mechanics of RNG's are well understood, and if they left the routines alone long enough, someone would crack those RNG's and then be able to predict with a fairly high level of certainty what cards will come.

Keep in mind that the human brain strives to make sense of nonsense. So we make up (on a subconscious level) 'explanations' of what we are exposed to.

at the top there is a dude with a drum and pulls out cards one by one and for those who behave well he always has an ace on the river and the rest of the players the random number generator gives out as he wants :):saint:

Live shuffling: 3 shuffles, then separate deck into 3 parts (let's name them A-bottom third, B and C-top third), then place them into CBA order and shuffle once more. Some casinos practice shuffling the deck just by spilling the entire deck on the table and shuffling without any particular order but this happens only every 10-20 hands, after dealer collects spilled cards, he does what I wrote in the first place.
As for online, there is a software that randomizes cards in a seemingly unrecognizable pattern. Several years ago, PS got some award for having the software that deals cards in the most honest possible way for everyone. I remember people saying stuff about it, like it meant that every seat at the table needs to have similar % of winning hands regardless of what the seats play was.
For example, you get 27 and fold pre flop, but if were to call, you would win that particular hand despite what others have. Once again, this is just a theory people presented online :D

Card mixed using a random number generator. I hope in the future will be used encrypted technology of the blockchain and the players will be no more suspicions of fraud.

my local casino has a shuffler in the table and when it comes out they cut it, and wash the cards every few hands and manually shuffle them, than rotate it to the shuffler in the table.

Thanks for asking, and found out a little and I have been told that ed a highly transparent and random software once shuffled can not change the order
