How to beat donks heads up?
Sounds simple enough right?
I find myself an ok player for micros generally better than most regs the reason why I'm still at micros after all this time is 2 reasons, tilt and BR management, anywho..
Now in HU its ok if blinds are big.. donks eventually shove on trash but when blinds are small and I'm super agressive HU raising almost any hand in position like you would be expected to and double barreling many flops.. eventually though the average donk picks up on this and then I can't do any moves what so ever it eventually turns out to be I raise, he shoves, I raise he shoves.. I'm like ok I'll tighten up or fold a few.. I raise he shoves... you can;t wait for AK and the like headsup but it does my head in when my game plan is severely changed like that, and I can't raise oop on hands like 710s oop against a donk..
I also find myself eventually tilting against them if I can't get em out early, I.E they go down to like 6-BBS but win a 40-60 flip or worse then win another flip and we're back to even..
Here is an example of me tilting in a tourney where I was 20 k everyone was 6k so I'm naturally shoving a wide range all in as blinds were 400/800, HU, I'm thinking this should be easy, he has 6k I have 30-35, I shove A10 he called QJ he snags it at this stage its now 600/1200 he was sitting on about 15000 after the hand, we were see-sawing abit after then I do this
- $1.29+$0.21|600/1200 NL (9 max) - Holdem - 2 players
