hi everyone !
I am still playing at micro stakes (SNG/tourneys).
I often face opponents in some of the following situations :
- vilain limps, I raise x3/x4, and the vilain calls
- i have opened 3x BB IP, vilain calls, he checks, I bet big on the flop, like 2/3 of the pot or more, and he calls
and the "idiot" will keep calling until the river with probably thoughts like "I have completely missed the flop, but who knows, a king may come on the river, which would make my K3os the winning hand, and i would go allin; i'm just one click away from seeing another card after all...... click"
The top pair that you flopped and that you bet aggressively, often gets beaten.
that happens 2/3 times, and it is enough to seriously hit your stack.
and you just have to have a few russians/ukrainians/romanians at your table (i noticed those guys more often than not play that way), to get in such a situation.
i know you have to play tighter against calling stations, but you can't really fold a premium hand against a calling station. and you don't get trips or higher often enough to safely bet against those calling stations.
It always bugs me and surprises me to see such a play in the example situations i quoted, when the guy checks, then calls your big raises until showdown, when you see, he was running after a flush which he missed, or a str8 he had only 4 outs from the flop etc...
yes, there is maybe a little bit of tilt .
Any tips to share on how to beat those slow players at micro stakes ? (not an easy question i'm aware of that)
