BAG - it's basic aggressive style. Min raise always, and seeing on opponent.

take lots of notes and look for exploitative situations, if he raises hard once or twice give him credit for a hand, if this starts being a common thing just start 3betting or post flop let him bury himself with bluffs

normally it's best to min raise each time you have the button and if they limp on button just call because you're out of position (unless you have a strong hand)

hand strengths are also much more relative, suited connectors aren't worth nearly as much and A9 could be a monster, K8 is also a strong hand heads up for example.

read your opponent, if they limp a lot on button try raising and they may fold a lot, if not then just flat

same thing if they call every time you raise btn then maybe start folding your 36 garbage hands

a common mistake is people too willing to try to finish the game early one. Take for example there are 2k in total chips, you both had strong hands early and he's now at 300 to your 1700. However, the blinds are still super low at 10/20, sometimes people with the larger stack are willing to just get it all in and finish the job but with blinds so low you can let him shove 4 times in a row and you fold and you are still you are are 1640 vs 360 differncial whereas if one of those went poorly it's basically be an even match again. Even if you have a huge chip advantage, pay attention to blinds, if blinds means he relatively small stack is still "deep" then let him chip away until you get a monster. Far too many times I've been way behind and shoved my KT to be called by 9T and suddenly go from massive underdog to 50/50.

I also could be wrong but when blinds are high I'll overshove any pocket pair if they raise or 3bet - likelihood of them hitting + fold equity make it +ev in my opinion. Even if he has AK and you have 22 you're still ahead.

I'd probably go a more aggressive style of play.

Every hand is raised. A lot of bluffs and aggressive play. Anything can happen but i like to play safe and beat the aggressor. Only time i fold hand is when i get raised and i'm small blind with 2/7 or something but in 99% cases i play hand.

heads up

What is the best strategy for heads up tournament?

I really have not played any heads up. when I was in heads up tourney. I played aggressive since you had better chances to hit rags compare to high cards. since there is only to of you in the game.

Heads up is fun. I played one after the other on Carbon for a while. Don't take it too seriously. When the blinds get super high at the end it can come down to a 50/50 hand.

I'd probably go a more aggressive style of play. 3 bet very often and try to exploit your opponent weakness

Of course aggression .. but how about mixing it up?

Of course aggression .. but how about mixing it up?

I fooled many players by mixing up my play. Fold once in a while when you are raised the minimum or even a 3 bet. Some players get a little too aggressive under the gun and when you pick up a monster hand you can pounce!

Not every hand can be raised.. From the bottom for me its about 50% of hands at the beginning of HU 22+, A2s+, K2s+, Q2s+, J5s+, T6s+, 96s+, 87s, A2o+, K2o+, Q5o+, J8o+ T9o. From BB I do more 3bet with a bit less range than BTM. Later stage when blinds. It also depends what opponent you have. You have to think about oponent range instead of his hands. What he opens, what he 3bets etc.

in a heads up , you have to be very aggressive, raising with many games, if you are very passive and expect to reach good hands will disappear your stack
