How many tables do you play at once when playing heads up s&g only?. Also what type of heads up do you play in terms of speed(turbo, super turbo etc)? And finally what do you play on ipad laptop or PC?

I was a HU specialist for a long time. I did a lot of bum hunting and played whatever type of game (regular, turbo, or hyper) had the fishy action. I generally 3-tabled, but would go to four if I was playing mostly hypers.

2 tables was my optimum. My winrate would drop if I tried more.
I played standard or turbo, but had a better winrate at standard.
Started a terrible habbit of playing hypers and when I did my winrate became a lossrate.
I now play cash and mtt and not hus&gos.
I became complacent and got a bit tilty after ipoker made me change my username, cos as I said on another thread I was into my sharkscope graph at the time.

Played on a pc by the way, but multi tabling hu takes A LOT of concentration.

Agree it does take a lot of concentration for hypers, I switch back at regular speed for multitable because I was taking a loss when hyper multitabling

I am not a heads up specialist, but I play 3 and up to 4 SnGs at a time and occasionally I am heads up at the same time in 2 or 3 of them and it is REALLY hard.

It takes so much more focus and attention to play heads up. There is definitely a rhythm and a dance and you really need to be aware of all the moves your opponent is making as well as your own image....

I think it would be extremely difficult to play more than 2 heads up tables....but again this is not my specialty at all...

I played 2 tables on HUSNGs generally (turbos and regular speeds).

I played 2-4 (sometimes a few more if vs the same person) when I played hyper turbos regularly too.

It's generally easier to multi table hypers because you're at closer effective stack sizes in all tables. When you're playing turbos, and you're at 75bb on one table early on in a game, and 40bb on another, and 15bb on yet another, it's a lot more confusing and takes more time to move from table to table. On hypers, you're always at 8-25bb where you're minraising, limping or folding preflop on the button (and lower than 8bb is easier).

If you're having trouble learning to multi table HUSNGs, I find it easier to add tables by playing a few buyins lower than your usual stakes, making sure you have no distractions in the room, and by trying to play against the same person on some of those tables.

i cannot really understand how someone can be playing more than 2 tables HU. even playing 2 tables was unconfortable for me. ( i just played one or two times this way). the amount of hu stt you should play in my opinion is 1, and when you feel confortable by playing them, try playing 2 at the same time. if you feel unconfortable stick to just once. its not really worth it multitabling hu, because you wont have almost any time to analyze the hands, and it wont be profitable for you either.

heads up is quick game, that's why not more as 4 tables. 2 is a good result, but try to play more, sometimes 3 , and when you will feel good in it, play more. Good luck

Many thanks for all the advises, I currently drop my speed from super to turbo which gives me a1500 starting chip instead of 500 and I'm feeling much comfortable on 2-3 tables. By the way I've been playing more on 888 and the competition seems to be much softer than stars.

I always struggle when doing more than two tables, it's too hard to get a read on people when you have 3 or more open. You get confused and don't know if this is the bluffer or the tight player. Heads up is more about playing your opponent not your cards anyways so I always like to keep table to 2.

It's all about how fast you can make accurate decisions. And the more games you've played and the more situations you know how to play, the faster you can play.

Imagine if I showed you a brand new game of poker that you weren't that familiar with. You'd struggle to make decisions on just one table. But someone who has played for years, has seen 100s of thousands, maybe over a million hands in the game, they can probably play three or four tables faster than you can play one (and far better).

That's an example of the main variable here - experience. Of course, even some great players (Olivier Busquet, the biggest winner ever in HUSNGs) only single table most of the time. But there are others who can win at the highest levels while playing 4+ tables too in HUSNGs. High level focus and a ton of experience in so many situations allows people to do that.
