DECISION: You’re heads up in tournament play against a shark who’s been beating you to every draw for the past 20 hands. Now he’s got a slight edge in the chip stacks. You finally pull rockets in the SB and you double the BB, hoping to just take the blinds and the antes, but he calls it.

The flop comes down: Ks, 10h, Kc.
He moves all-in.

What do you do?

This was my reply:

Depends on Stack size vs Blinds and what's the ICM? If the fold would put him at too much of an advantage I would snap call. He probably has a smaller pair, 10,X or QJ. He is probably doing a stop and go and puts you on 9's or less, or AXs. I agree if he had KX he wouldn't want you to get away from your hand.

What do you think?

Why do you want just blinds and antes with AA. Sure the villain has been on a heater but this is the best starting hand in the game. What other hand could you possibly want to halt that momentum and bring the chip lead back into your hand.

Hero is saying villain is a shark as in the villain has a big edge over hero? If that is the case just snap call since you'll be ahead alot of the time and if you are, you basically won the tournament if the villain only has a small chip lead. Hero is likely to lose anyways if the villain has a big edge over hero so the result doesn't change much if villain did have a K.

As for hand ranges why do you think villain put you on a range when you opened 2x from BTN. That is like the widest opening range in the game unless hero has been playing super tight and open raising like 30%. Villain can't put you on a range because you can have anything with a 2x BTN open. I can't tell what is villain's range because OP only said villain hits all draws. In that case, we fold since he probably hit a K here. I kid I kid. There really isn't a read on villain with no info provided. Also no stack sizes?? If we're <15 effective I think its a no brainer call. If we're deeper may be not, I can't tell with no read. However like I said, if villain has a big edge over hero, we should just call since we are likely to lose in the long run anyways and we probably won't be getting rockets again in this match.

I would call at any stack size.

Very rarely would an opponent just jam all in on the flop with three kings on this flop. A small lead, a check raise, a pot sized bet even I can see, but an overbet all in with a king on this board from any player (good or bad) is quite rare.

If you have a weak ten, this becomes a much tougher decision, or QJ type hand (I'd rather have AQ here in a lot of ways).

I also agree with tohos and find it weird that you would just hope to pick up blinds and antes with AA. That's never the case heads up, AA is a great hand and there's no bubble/ITM type considerations.

Jas m8, if you are still playing a year from now? you will look at that post and smile so wide you might split your lips.

Owned mate sorry, i would avoid that player for a while. I'de bet you folded the winning hand enough to make you sick if you knew how often it was.

Study before play not after. Would you play plo8 before you knew about how to play and win at it? I did,, don't do it, lol.

Good luck M8, the fact you are here tying to improve on it is the best thing you can do to keep moving along.
Hu is the toughest it gets and you really have to man up or be beaten by weak hands. The table isn't the place to learn about HU play.

Yeah I think that if he had KX que wouldn't want you to fold, but it really depends on how he plays, and the stack in realtion to the blinds. It depends but i would probably call
