Is there a heads up advice post that is really good? This is the area of poker I feel the least confident. I guess it is partially due to fact I don't think I ever gotten to heads up in anything other than a SNG. I never have in a MTT yet...
edit OK I actually saw some related posts and I am reading those. I still would apreicate any advice.

My best advice would be to play as many pots in position as possible and as few as possible outta position. It seems like a really simple statement, but it really is the best way to improve quickly. In general, I min raise almost any two cards on the button and play out the hands accordingly. It will be much easier to steal pots in position and play relatively low variance.

Of course sometimes you opponent will make it difficult to carry out this simple strategy by 3 betting regularly etc etc, and at that point you may need to adjust, like perhaps mix in an open limp here and there on the button and get in to play small ball that way...

hope some of this helps

In HU play what would be considered poor holdings at a full table such as A3o are great hands. Since you and your opponent will miss the flop more often than not, the high card is often enough to win the pot.

Also, folding the button is a mistake unless your opponent always raises or shoves every time you call from the button and you have a crap hand like 32o (actually the worst hand HU) that you don't want to take to a showdown. For example, if the blinds are 200/400, the total pot is 600 so at a minimum you always have 3:1 pot odds to call from the button. If antes are in play the odds are higher.

Hu is about controlled aggression. Obviously any knowledge you have about your opponent helps & you need to pay attention to how he is approaching the HU, relative to how he was playing earlier, but generally speaking, attitude is more important than your cards.
Don't know if there are a lot of low buy in Hu games available on the sites accessible to American players, but, the $1 & $2 buy ins are a good way to get comfortable with the format & to gain experience.
