So I am a pretty tight player. And i have issues loosening up in the late part of MTT games i can get pretty far usually but i clam up when everyone else is shoving. I have had people watching and there like any 2 cards are good at that point. The blinds are huge already and Me i like to be the one shoving not calling a shve unless i have a Premium hands TT or better i wud say. Any ideas on how to improve in this area? I just cant get my self to call a shove with like K8s or in the likes and its frustrating so any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Depending on position, mediocre hands late keep you in the tournament. You have to make judgement calls based on position and what others around you are doing. Depending on stack, blinds and position determine when and where to push. Just remember you need to push with marginal hand, before your stack gets too low with a premium that everyone has value to call. If the price is right youll get called with any 2. Cant play scared, if the table respects your tight play, youll get away with more when you do shove. I dont know if any of this helps, but its what i got.

Thanks

Ya that's the thing also If i get a hand and shove it gets called with bs and i lose so at that point of the game ur saying that if i have a tight image then when i shove it will be respected and that any 2 cards are good depending on position, also by that point someone shoves at every hand and i usually either don't have good enough cards if I'm in position and with the way i was taught to play only top cards by a former bf its hard to loosen up i have been able to loosen my range early game. Just cant seem to do it late :( Thanks for your advice also :)

Yes, by that point its either you are too short stacked or they have you dominated in chips to a point where its an easy call with ATC. Try starting sooner to help pad your stack and try to steal blinds. If you are at a table with tight image for an extended period of take more chances with C-bets and shoves. You have to use a tight image while you have it, if you move tables and shove it wont be respected.

In my opinion, even with 12 bb margin u have some space to make a bet (in this case, a mini-raise). Below 12 BB, you have to go all-in (push) with every premium hands. From 8 bb's your range greatly increase (suited connectors), Ax, Kx. If it is to die to be playing forward and not languishing until the blinds swallow you. Remember, always all in.

Stayng afloat in MTT is hard. When calling the BB OOT is high stakes, min bets and min raises are much more serious propositions than they were in previous rounds, and the difference between betting and checking is a lot more significant. And keep in mind it's no longer player raising the stakes because they've got a good hand it's the dealer raising the stakes to separate the wheat from the chaff. You have let your opponents know you mean business every time you put your chips on the table.
