i have 50k in 5th with 9 left.bbs r 2k,utg raises to 11.5k,im next to utg and I call with qq. First ? is should i have reraised to 20k there, I have no notes on utg and havent seen him at other table as this final table just started.all others fold. flop is rainbow 9 and 2 lower cards ,he snap bets 31 k a little more than pot,i put him on aa or kk,and i was looking for a set of qs,and i fold(put timer on) ,he shows pocket jacks, would have won if no j comes.how would u have played hand

Snap shove all in over his preflop raise. QQ is too strong to even think about folding with 15bbs or less. Also by flatting you may invite KJ or similar hands in from the blinds and they may catch an overcard to leave you drawing very thin.

lol at the thought process.

how did you play this so, so wrong?

not a spot to click it back, i prefer just shipping it pre.. can't 3 bet without maing yourself pot committed.

using a hand as strong as QQ at a final table to set mine is really, really bad on top of the fact you called like 1/5th of your stack..

if you have that strong of a read that he has AA/KK just fold, it's free apart from the antes.

You literally couldn't have butchered this hand any more than you did.

You have the 3rd best pre flop hand in poker. Shove.

Calling to set mine with QQ is just plain weak. It strongly suggests you were playing to move up and hoping to place high rather than aiming to place high in the first place.

Making it 20k as you suggested isn't enough. It means he has to call 10k with over 30k in the pot. And can you really fold if he pops it higher?

Since re-raising it meaningfully higher than 20k would take the majority of your stack, just shove.

If you think JJ is a fold you should quit poker.

What a well thought-out reply, demonstrating not only your level of understanding that poker is a game where different opinions are valid, but also your openness to other people's styles being fine for them to play, the depth of respect you have for other people's opinions, and your level of class as a person.

Different opinions aren't valid in some spots though. HU with 2BB and you get AA and someone shoves on you. There are no opinions, call is right, fold isn't. With Jacks would be the same. The correct move is obvious when you have a readless opener, no counter-argument can be made so not all opinions are valid.
