Hi i'm quite new to this forum and poker , playing it for a few months. I usually play freerolls / ticket tournaments as i don't have a proper bankroll. So, i started to analyse my hands so i can improve my game.
I have 2 hands from one tournament i played which i feel i didn't play my best and i think i could have done more, especially the pocket kings hand.

What do you think he had in the KJ hand? Was it a good fold?
Any advice i get would be appreciated.

I think on the KJ hand I would have bet 1/2 to 3/4 the pot after the flop. On the KK hand I would have bet a pot size bet after the flop. I try not letting people catch up too cheaply. I could be wrong. Good luck at the tables.

In the first hand, why did you a mini raise? Bet 3 x bb. You have not to think your oponents has flushes, bet 50% of pot on flop, you have a showdown hand, in this case, against 2 villains, no check with value. I the second hand, pre flop is ok, The board have draws of straight and flush, BET a 50% or more!!! In turn the board draws straight, two suits, grow the pot, a lot of hands of villain pays you, get chips, make a strong bet. your size bets are wrong, read about it.

The pocket kings hand was cringeworthy to watch. Why do you even bother minimum betting???? You can't slop play because of the gut shots, flush draw and ina dn out straight draws. BET...learn the word BET....he had low flush in KJ hand.

The KK hand is not good at all. Pre-flop is too small of a raise. The flop makes you top set however the board is coordinated. I don't mind taking it down here. Minimum bet is 50% of the pot I probably bet 75% here. The turn card is bad for your hand. It brings additional straight and flush possibilities. You must bet here to protect. Most of the time you are ahead so you must protect. Again I put in 75% of the pot. The river completes a possible flush but misses any straight draws and this is where you make your biggest bet of 200, after your hand is dead and then you call off a sizable raise.

In fact overall you put a small amount of money in the pot when you were ahead and gave him a chance to beat you. Then when he did beat you and you were behind (dead) you put most of your money in the pot? Think about it that way.

The KJ is not as bad IMO. If there is info on the players behind you it may be critical to even playing this hand at all. I play pretty tight in the early stages and KJo well out of position already has me uncomfortable. You are first in and so you should raise as you have done. I would raise 2.5X and not just the minimum.

Bet this flop. It is scary looking however there is a reasonable chance that you have the best hand and you should charge the others for it. They are also probably scared and a bet of 50% pot may take it down right away. I would not call the river. It is an odd bet however there is a reasonable chance he made a flush and I am not risking my tournament on this call with that board.

Firstly

Firstly on KJ in the middle position, I always do the pass, because on the table of starting hands on the distance it is not profitable to call in the middle position on this hand, and even more so as you did. Well, once you have already entered this hand, the flop had to bet at least the size of the pot, it was your fault when you checked. In the second case, you did everything right, it's just a doomed distribution and your mistake is not here. The problem is that there are some fish that respond to Q3 to raise before the flop. I also often lose just because I go for a good card and the opponents answer on different garbage and as a result they win.
