I was watching a poker hands episode by Doug Polk and he was talking about bet sizing deep in tournaments. I've noticed the standard bet sizes are a lot smaller when people run deep, and are around 1/3 the pot. I assumed they did this because accumulating chips is not as important as preserving your stack, so getting value by betting bigger as your standard, is less valuable than betting smaller and saving your stack when you are behind. Doug Polk says he doesn't know why the do these small bet sizing as their standard and goes on to say not to do it. Wanted to know other peoples ideas on what is close to GTO and the pros and cons of these bet sizes when deep in tournaments.
