Are there any good site for large tournaments now days for U.S. players. Currently playing on Lock poker, the 97 player tournaments just don't seem that exciting.

My favorite is intertops, 250 people top 8 get a ticket to another tourney. of course they arent accepting us players anymore...

I admit the Lock MTTs are running small, but damn they're soft as hell. I'd pretty much given up on all but private MTTs years ago, but because the SNGs I like to play have been filling slow on Lock/Revolution, and I'm not into playing cash full time again, I've been jumping into some of the MTTs that were starting up soon after I sat down. Of the last 5-6 Guaranteed MTTs I've played over the last week or so, with BI's ranging from $25 to $15R to $2 with field sizes of ~50-350, I've gone deep in all of them, cashed in 3, and final tabled 2. One of the $5K GTD I FT'd but didn't cash had a stupid payout structure that paid only top 3 despite there being like 100 entrants. Looks like it was a bug though because since then the GTD payouts have increased with field size as they should.

Ya ive noticed that too, played in 3 and got to the final table in both. Just doesn't seem as big of a deal since the full tilt/stars days of making a final table.

Yea, but don't you make more final tables now.... Could be more value overall.

I like bovada, formerly bodog...the players aren't very good there in the satellites to the Sunday $100K...I like the $7.70 with rebuys and my strategy in that one is to just do my best during the rebuy period without actually rebuying like most others do when they bust out....if you can make it the full hour, then take your $7.00 add on and get an additional 10,000 chips... a ridiculous concept since the original chip amount is only 1500, but that's the way they decided to run that tourney...
Occasionally I get my ticket to the Sunday $100K which costs $162 to enter...You would think at that buy-in level, the players would be pretty good, but they're not that good and you can win some money, up to around $22K or so for first....I wish I hadn't withdrawn so much before, but I was paranoid about losing my whole bankroll cause I'm from the U.S. The typical turnout for the $100K is 550 to 600 players which creates a small overlay for the players...good luck!

I play the $18 Turbo '50seats' on Sunday's (couple hrs. before $100k). This Satty always has at least $2k overlay, & at times has been over $2,300 overlay. Can't miss this one!

For larger field tourneys for US... on Sundays at 16:00(est) there's that $10 buyin $15k guar. on Merge & now on Cake there's also a $10buyin $10k guar.

Cake (Lock) seems to be adding a bunch more MTT's to their lobby.

Agreed I loved pokerstars just for the tournaments alone.

hmmm for US i think its best carbon with 125k garanteed every sunday (if you want big tour)...tickets is 109$ but you have step tours to get ticket and there is not enough players to fillup prize pool, usually there are 1100 players registred, so carbon give it a lot as a gift on this tour...

Pokerstars the best for Non-Americans. I would say Cake is the best for Americans with Lock second

Interesting. I'm curious, what puts the tournaments at Cake ahead of Lock?

Cake has specials on Sundays (I would assume Lock does as well) but they also have a $1,500 GTD R&A that is only a $1.10 BI that runs daily. Good tournament for the micro players. I know there are more, that one just pops up in my head.

I have heard good things about Lock though.

but dosent lock, cake and intertops how same tourneys playing. NOT counting the specific site tourneys in but just the regular tourneys running. think most of these are same.

carbon poker/black chip @ merge network wouldnt be to bad trying out if you just play @revolution.

I like Bovada. Probably for the reason most people dont like Bovada. I like not having player names listed and not having HUD used against you. I didnt use them before this and I feel it's leveled the playing field. You still have the oppurtunity to take notes on players at your MTT it just doesnt carry over to the next game you see them at. I do believe after Bovada made this move that alot of the regulars left this site making the tourney softer. I've had one good cash out in the last few months and working on more qualifiers for the 100K on Sunday.

Im definitely playing low right now bc I am writing off any money on Merge as lost...bc of the impending crack down I BELIEVE is coming...

For buyins 11/under Merge has gotten downright horrible if you want a GTD deepstack tourney...its pathetic.

i really like the lock rebuys that makes it more exciting and the play is so soft u can really get a good stack going easily. The prize pool is nice even if there are not too many players
