Just so I know when I can move back up and have another crack at beating this level!
Sounds like you were just running badly @ the $10's if you are now beating the $5's and the only variable in your game that's changed is you now actually winning half of the flips while the players are just as bad.
It's good that you moved back down to ride out the bad variance. I wish I had done the same sometime ago. You can't rush it, but that's easier said than done for most of us.
It's either a bad coincedence that we all run bad as soon as we decide to move up the latter or the losses at the higher stakes after moving up have a magnified impact on use mentally. Probably both, but definitely the latter.
There's a certain sense of entitlement that comes with moving up. You think along the lines of, "Alright, I've finally made it to the next level and I can't believe that the players are still this bad. This will be a breeze! It's my time and I always knew I could do it! "
*Insert bad variance*
" Are you ****in' kidding! How can this happen to me. I'm too good! If only I could get off to a better start at these limit's I could handle a few losses down the line, no problem, but not right now. I just moved up do I really have to move back down?! "
*Insert more bad variance*
"OMFG, rigged BS! I'll show them by not moving down, sticking to my A game and riding it out! I'm better than this!"
*Insert tilt + more bad variance*
"No one runs worse than me in poker. Why didn't I just move down?"
, , , and now you're a manic depressive!
