Hi all....this is my first time opening a thread...so im hoping this works right lol..
anyways...i have a problem....number 1 im down 1000$ alot due to when i first started playing online i learned alot of people dont bluff online...and my bluffing i do so much in real life didnt work like that on here lol....number2...now that i am down i refuse to add more money on here due to if i cant win freerolls to come back up then all im going to do is keep losing how i feel....now in alot of freerolls it seems its so hard to win due to so many people always going all in with anything...had AA so many times or AK, KK, QQ and got put all in so of course im going to call...why would i fold? and lose to 2-4 offsuit with 2 pairs...or 2-10 S catches a flush....now i have won a few freerolls...and then taken the money to a buy-in and lose it again because im in the mood of playing the freerolls compared to having money on the table....i feel im suppose to play different from freerolls compared to buy-in....but i get stuck in that freeroll 'donking' mode...i guess im asking for any advice on what i should do...because it seems i will never get anywhere when i win freeroll but lose it at buy-in...

...And you are not the only one friend. Many people will swear to you that they are winning players, they will tell you that they spun up a "freeroll" only bankroll into tens of thousands of dollars??? I became disabled from a work injury, I could not afford a big deposit, I believed I was an above average "live" player and average online player 3 years ago. I now had time to devote to my favorite past time. I began to study, I have a poker database and HUD so that I can review my play. I joined CardsChat and began playing in freeroll club, I also play online MTT's with $1.10 to $5.50 buy-ins, the $5 are shots that I take weekly or 2x per week. I also play Micro Cash -again with bankroll management (BORING) With this "Strat" I can now play on 4 or more (U.S. allowed) sites. Do I count on poker to pay my expenses? NO, Does poker provide me with $ to occasionally buy myself a luxury item? YES

My advice to you is figure out exactly what you want from poker. Do you just want to have fun? Do you have an amount of money that you can lose for entertainment? Are you actually studying the "game"? AS FAR as style of play and difference in freerolls and buy-in's. Yes, you definitely have to adjust your play, one of the great things about poker, the dynamics change constantly, we have all "talked" about the "freerolls" at one time or another. I think you will find among the CardsChat Free Roll Club members who have had good success, that they have developed a strategy for playing in these games. but it really comes down to solid tournament poker. You asked in your post about folding certain hands or just going all-in. You must look deeper than that. Are you risking "tournament life"? Is it likely to end up multi-way? I hope you are reviewing your hands and situations after every MTT, I still fall into these traps, and I have played many many, MTTs. Yes, some people will play "loose" because they are not risking a buy-in.Concentrate on how YOU are going to react, Villains are going to do what they are doing. Good Luck, I know I am rambling, this topic is asked constantly. I believe many people quit online poker because of it, you will get past it, just hang-on, and believe it or not after some time, you will know just how to put Villain's Stack in front of your seat.;)
