Trying to grow your stacks and dodge bullets is an art form in its self. No matter the stakes the same rules apply. Free rolls the risk is absent, but late in tournament it's your time invested and that is money and you still see the crazy calls. Oh Ace rag suited and the will take you out. You will never know the reasoning of the call or is it just time to go on to the next hand. Or just blame on it's such an addicting game and you just want to be the best but you can't because I am. Good games and cards to you.

Good prep for other MTT's, need patience and discipline.

I've noticed that in freerolls and micro MTT's it's a lot easier to play tight and don't overly aggressive bluff to get deep. Once you get deep, usually top 50 then you can start employing all the tactics that you might pick up from streams, books, and sites like cardschat.

Yea, early and mid stages for free rolls and low buy in Mtts are definitely a time for ABC poker. Most people at that point don't care how you've folded everything for the last 20 hands. They don't care that you are representing the nuts. They look at their cards and get tunnel vision

There is no way around it, the luck factor in poker can be maddening!
In a MTT with the time invested as you mentioned, a crummy call when you are hoping for fold equity is like dagger!!

there is only one thing that can KINDA help, play more than 1 MTT at a time, when you lose to one crummy player you can double up on one in another MTT that you happen to be playing at the same time. This is a really good idea with low level play because so many coin flips are involved.

All the same, poker is primarily a game so. Games should be fun. Poker takes the inherent human traits such as the desire to get better. Be better than the rest. To win and not to test at the same time a heavy physical exertion. Enjoy. Do not forget at the same time and to himself. Do other chores.

This is poker. Poker is a constant struggle between that which is common to all people and common sense. This desire to be the best, to earn, on the one hand. And the correct assessment of the game at a table on the other side

For sure if it's late on a tournament I agree , it doesn't matter if it's a norlmal buy-in or freeroll event . It's time invested , a fact I take seriously into consideration :)

freerolls always give a feeling of a roulette, except of a final stages. but it takes much time to advance.
mtts are slightly different, even low cost entry ones, not that nuts people as in freerolls
