The live tourney is a Freeroll to enter..

But the structure has a buy in element as well

So the question is what would be the best strategy. For example take the dealer bonus or wait until under 10k and then take the re buy.

Should be about 40 runners.

I'm going to be playing this tomorrow night.

Considering the prize pool I think you could get away with spending a bit...At the start I would lose a little on purpose so u can take the 10k add on...The dealer bonus doesn't really seem worth it....Other than the 10k add on I wouldn't recommend any other type of rebuy....As for the 30k add on at the break your kinda stuck taking it since it will give you a solid edge or at least keep you from falling behind with the other stacks.....Good Luck to you and let me know how it goes.

How many get paid? How much is the typical final prize pool? Also, how many people addon and how often? And how good are you relative to this field? All these things and possibly more could impact how much I budget.

The game they played last night got 120 runners with the top 10 getting paid..The winner got £480.00.. These tend to be very loose games so most of the field would re buy at least once.

get in for free ....be aggressive ....quit if you bust .

maybe go for the super addon depending on #players left ,quality of players and #payouts.

Good point, don't know what happened, but with that many runners they normally end up doing deal's

They have these often here in SoCal. Hawaiian Gardens mostly. There will most likely be more than 40 runners.

Experience tells me that there will be a small contingent of players who mainly play ring games, but will take the free shot and will not rebuy. For the most part they will be gone by the first break. This won't bother them at all, they came to play ring in the other room.

The rest of the folks are prepared with an initial rebuy, and at least the big add-on. Of course taking that first dealer bonus is a must. Depending on your pocket money, you should probably be prepared for more than 1 re-buy.

At Hawaiian Gardens, there is the opportunity to go wild just before the add-on by offering up to 3 re-buys. And there are an amazing amount of players who will do all of them. Then the add-on, and someone who was short can be a contender instantly. These folks are not all fish, or gamblers. They see the opportunities and internally calculate that it is worth the try.

So, even tho this is technically a freeroll, in reality it really isn't.
