I think the easiest way to lay down TPTK is by first not overvaluing the hand and over-betting which gets yourself committed to pots with just a pair.
Once you manage the pot size its much easier to lay it down to a 3-bet from someone that you feel is playing fairly tight or whatever the situation may be. And also if you smell something fishy but not fishy enough to fold calling him out with a small pot will not be as bad.
It is tough to laydown cause it just seems too good to. But it seems like its always 2-pair or trips that seem to beat you cause those are the
hands that are usually being played that aggressively into the top pair (the typical range of 3-bets and pot/overbets).
