When i try to play tournies i get bored

Ah, don't play tournies. You should find ways to waste your money that you find interesting.

do you get bored soon after starting tourney up or after abit/awhile?
how about sng's instead? not getting as boring if any.

early stages can be pretty slow at times, i usually play 3-4 at a time, but really if your getting bored, then dont play them

I have like 2+ machines so I normally play poker on one (with HUD enabled so I can just read players by their stats quickly...) and use the other(s) to watch movies, forum chat, music, etc. simultaneously. Try using another monitor like 'Orifice said (for watching porn tho?... lol... nice one...) or multitabling as Karkus' suggested. Sure beats the hell outta being bored...

online or live? I have no problem live and probably have no business online. I am highly visual and the online interface is very difficult to stay focused on. Not to mention half the time when I'm playing I'm at the office with my attention being pulled in different directions. Live is just the opposite - focused, engaged, paying attention to every nostril flair and eye movement.
What does help me online is taking notes. Even though I am bored silly at this particular point in the online tournament I know it is pretty much a certainty I will be facing these players again and it could come in very handy at another time to know - for example my latest note on a player - checked the nuts on the river - TWICE. That could help me save some money next week.

Go up in stakes. The lower the stakes, the more bored you will be. Up the stakes and you will get interested....

Might work actually. Instead of being bored, he'll be paranoid. I hear paranoia's good for those that lack attention spans...

Minimize your browser (half window to the table and the other one for your browser) and put some videos on youtube and keep watching the suggested videos.
Other way is like some previous guy says put some notes on the players... that can save to you lot of chips in future tourneys...obviously if you share the same table with those players again....

Play more tables.

I mean obviously don't go from playing 1-2 tourneys at a time to trying 8 at once, but slowly add tourneys to your sessions for as long as you feel comfortable.

I have similar problems.
I think its quite simple:

Eat and sleep good, and only play when motivated.

Play multi tables and watch T.V or movies...
