What is the right time to starting taking flips in a tournament?

When you or your opponents chip stack has the appropiate amount which could be any time of the tournament but generally its mid to late stages.

I agree with Madsacc, It depends on stakes, stacks and stages. If low stakes and you have a large enough stack, flips aren't a terrible thing. If youre high stakes and its early, flips can be avoided mostly with good reads and patience. Late game and lowstacked, flips may be your only shot.

FLIPS? in the first phase impossible u have a lot of bb's unless u loose a lot a chips and u stay with 10/12 bb's... For me, I only put someone all in when they have 13/15 bb's..... he have 12 bbs and open 2 bbs, i shove him with AJ for example.... other example the utg opens for 2.5 big blinds.. and i have 23 blinds ad I have AK suited, if we 3 bet probably i'll pot in the pot around 6 big blinds, and we stay with 17 big blinds, its not bad, but i prefer to shove... probably it's a big shove and they i'll fold, but in some cases they think do you want to steal... And it AK we have a good %.... Unless we're against premiium.... Short When we have premium we'll try to put all of our chips in the midle like AA, KK, QQ...... AK...

When your stack are less than 10bb then you should find a good position to shove with something like 66+KQ+A10+.

I don't think OP is asking 'when do we need to start open-shoving'.

you're not goin to flip with more than 30bb, generally it's in the late midstage or when the buble has gone.

go and check pushfold charts in internet
also practice pushfold in a free sowtware like ICM Trainer
