So I'm trying to improve my skills , but I really struggle with MTT freerolls
How the freerolls that I play are : Hyper turbo we start 150bb deep
how my opponents play: full limp and calling stations , call a x4 with trash hands , never fold even though they should , I don't know what their range even with good bluff they don't fold , I don't understand how they play , and it pisses me off , I try to mix strategy but they don't care , they call all my raise preflop they don't take into account my position . They open shove 100bb deep
My ITM is 12% at micro stake which is trash for micro stakes. I'd like to be able to beat them but my bluffs don't work like a guy easily call all in river with tp on a wet board with flush and straight draw that are in my range.
So I try to play NIT against them but due to the structure I end up having to jam around 15bb polar in middle stage or sometime I 15bb limp but very rarely , also when someone limp they never raise and even with a x4 they all call .

So I don't know what to do to improve in those stakes and make 20% ITM I have the petrangelo and negreanu masterclass , the negreanu one isn't very usefull . But the petrangelo one is soo good .
Anyway thanks in advance for your advices

Thanks for posting.

As my title suggests you first make a hand then make them pay.
If a player will not fold KQS preflop and you have AA KK QQ go all in.

Do not bluff unless you know the player will fold. Which is very seldom.

Set mine JJ and below.
Nut mine hands like AXS 89 etc

Check fold weak made hands.

If several players will go to the river remember 1 pair hands go way down in strength.

If they will call all-in when you have monster draws on the flop go all-in.

See lots of flops and only draw to nuts or near nuts hands.

Remember you are playing poker they are playing bingo. You still have the advantage but not by making them fold but by making them call huge bets.

Hope this helps
:):)

First rule is: dont bluff on freerolls! Dont even bluf on micros until late stage! Just try play TAG with even shove on premium hands and you will be on 20%... Altough i am not sure that adopting that kind of play will improve your overal game since bigger buyins involve different tactics..

You are in for a long haul. Playing freerolls is going to take you a very long time to build your bankroll. The variance is just brutal, because the fields are so big. Try to find tournaments with max. 500 players. Even the pros have difficulties beating huge fields and they succeed because they put in a lot of volume (play a lot of tournaments)... Consider risking 300 usd and start playing 1 usd buy-in tournaments on a smaller site. That will give you the biggest chance of success.

hyper Turbo + freeroll + huge field seems to be a horrible combination :D
I think your game will get worse if you Play a lot of those freerolls because it doesnt have much in common with a 'normal' MTT. also hyper Turbos are though for beginner. you should Play tournaments with regular Speed.
like you said, it doesn't make sense to put them on a range or Play some real poker. it's just one big mess.
I would suggest that you deposit 100$ at pokerstars and Play the 45man, 90man and 180man SNGs (regular, once you got more experience try the Turbo) or MTTs for 1.10 or less buy-in.
you see some Maniacs aswell, but it's a lot better than in freerolls. Overall I think those are the best tournaments to prove if you can beat the microstakes.
once you get some Deep runs and increase your bankroll, climb the ladder :)
out of sheer curiosity, what are those masterclasses About and how much did you pay for it? because I saw a few ads on YouTube About those, also from Phil ivey.

I downloaded them illegally

Negreanu masterclass is only like 4-5 hours and talk about the basics and doesn't talk about merged ranged and software . There is 1 hour about tells , I heard that negreanu one is better than the one from Ivey.
Petrangelo one is by far the best , it's only about MTT but it talk about ICM , pre and postflop , and it use and explain plays postflop via PIO solvers and we have like hands analysis play analysis , GTO explanation , I only saw pre and postflop till now , it's more than 31 hours of content for the petrangelo course and he goes in depth (at least for a beginner like me).

Yea I'm gonna do DoN SnG to gain some bankroll

Good idea. This is a good opportunity to build a bankroll. Traditionally, dons collect a very tight game and a person who is used to aggressive play has a slight advantage. In addition, the iсm structure has a slightly different character than in conventional sng and you do not need to swing the dispersion in the fight for first place.

thx for the info!
I would not suggest DoN because with the rake you won't be able to build a decent bankroll. better try the 45man or 180man

you do not need to swing the dispersion in the fight for first place.
well on pokerstars it's still a fight for Chips because they changed the payout structure. you get a fixed Price which is less than the buy-in and x$/100 Chips ….
even with 2x the starting stack you won't get 2x the buy-in. really annoying

If you are serious about online poker, I honestly dont think, you should spend to much time on freerolls. In some sense they are almost like play-money games, because people did not pay anything to enter. Some players are sitting out during the whole tournament, and others might be sports-betters or casino players, who hardly know the rules of poker and only play, because its free.

Make a deposit and play some 2NL cash games, or if you are going to go the tournament way some low buyin SNGs and tournaments. You will learn more, and you might actually also win more per hour, if you are good, than you do by playing freerolls. I do play freerolls sometimes, because 888 poker have a lot of them, but mostly when I am to tired to have a serious poker session.

That's right, dons on the stars are very bad, I was surprised when I saw what they did. I think the perfect place for don is a partypoker or ipoker network. If we talk about the stars, then I think it's best to try mtsng. I recently started playing this format and saw some small progress.
