got selected to day 2 of the tournament in philly, average stack is around 130k, i am holding around 85k chips, highest stack is around 320k.

200 are in final table, top 150 will take a prize, small/big blinds are at 2500/5000, and big blind pays ante

please give tips and suggestions, generally i go all in for any pocket pair with less than 10 BB. should i just call the BB or raise a little more than BB and see the flop. any other better options how to play this.

just play normal even with less than 10BB?

fyi.. I chase straights/flushes and never hit one in general

thank you so much the tournament starts in a few hours

You have 17 Big Blinds. Use a standard push/fold strategy for 17 BB adjusting according to position. The most important thing is position and if you are the first one to raise.

Remember you will want to have a better hand to call (in your case going all in) than to raise yourself.

So for example, if folded around to you on Button, and you have AJ, it's an easy shove (all in). But if a player from early position raises and another player calls, you have AJ on the button, it's a much more trickier spot.

Best of luck!

play with position
no bluff
no slowplay
Take your time to try to know the game of the players at the table, that will give you an advantage

Thanks for the info.

actually i dont think ihave 17 BB, as BB plays ante too (5000BB+5000Ante), these are 40 min levels, next SB/BB/Ante is 3k/6k/6k.

so any 2 face cards ( AA,AK,KK,QK,JK,AJ) allin if no one raises? what if someone raises? my final table has players with 250k,200k, 4 players with more than 100k, me, and 3 more with chips less than me.

any other hands i should think myself as a good position to go all in (what about 1010,99,88)

Doesn't matter who pays ante (BTW, I am not sure what you mean by Big Blind pays ante, doesn't everyone ante up?), You have 17 BB because 85000/5000 = 17. If you want to bring in antes into calculation that's a different concept (m).

Regardless, I think u have simple decisions. Use push/fold strategy. Keep position in mind + action (or lack of action) before you. Your range should be wider from late positions and if it's folded to you.

Ah ok got it. Even in that case you can still assume you stack to be of 17 BB, because with ante of 1/10 the BB, you will lose 1 BB every 10 times you are the Big Blind!

So it actually means i have 17 BB's not 10 (i assumed 10 as BB pays same for ante) so i can play little tighter right till i go less than 10BB?

Also day 2 tournament , 200 players left, 150 places get paid, tighter play till i get in to price pool?

take advantage of limp situations in position. its a great time to steal for you with pushes if there are lot of limps. or if there aren't limps you can afford to limp yourself in late position and play in position. position matters even more than usual with your stack.

I would say the opposite. When you between 10-18 BB it's time to play looser to try and double up. Min cashes are barely worth the effort. Try to go for the win. Having said that, don't go crazy with like J9s. Pick your spots, specially from late postions with limpers or no raises, push a wide range of hands like 77+, A10s+, AJo+, KQs.

Play tight to try to get a double up, and maybe make some shoves in the button/cutoff to pick up some blinds to stay alive.

My first comment is about "Final Table" with 200 players, Perhaps you ment Final Cut? I will call it 50 to Go! to be ITM.

With the 85K Chips at 5,000 BB you got 17BB < 20BB so yes You need to start opening the range to pay and call; but be cautious No to be the Bubble Boy!

Hi guys, below is the update

1st hand 1010 raised to 18k on button, all folded

in between played on bad hand k 10, should not have played that, lost like 30k there,

finally bubble happened, all are in the prize pool range

I am BB with 6k, ante 6k, the person next to me raised to 15k, button called all in 30k, i went all in 65k with Q K Spades

button has pocket 5's, the other person has pocket A'S

cards comes K K 5 9 4 (unfortunately 4 clubs), pocket A's has a club, he hit flush, button hit full house with pocket 5's, both won some chips, i got eliminated, but cashed in some price little more than 150 buyin

hopefully next time i should build large stack in to day 2
