Hi guys.. Some great news I came in the top 12 of a live satellite tourney the other week and the prize was an entry into the Walsall leg of the UK poker tour which is a £1000 buy in event. I've been told it will have over 300 runners and is split over two days then the remainder play out the final day this forthcoming Saturday. The initial chips are 15000 and the blinds start at 25-50 and go up every hour, there is a running ante after the fourth level. Now I have asked some of my mates and one of them said that whatever I do, do not commit all of my chips early on i.e. all in even with AA, the other said keep 75% of your chips back and just play with the remainding 25% for the first day. I think basically they are saying keep alive at all costs. The winner will get over £100,000 I'm playing well at present and I want to go far so any good advice from players who have experience at this level will really help. Thanks the sniper...

U ever played live? how u control your emotions? Does your hand shake? Do u know how to read other ppl faces? I think this are the only questions u have to put yourself. Everythink else is poker.
Me myself i do not know how the chips look at a casino and i think there are not many ppl here who played live at a casino:)) But also i saw some guys at Carrabean adventure who made it to the final table playing poker live for the first time.

Your friends are right for the most part, dont commit your chips on something like top pair, if you get all in with aces preflop though I would do it. You're always gonna be ahead by so much. With such small starting blinds and a big stack it is a good idea to limp in with stuff like suited connectors or gappers to hit big, always aim for making flushes and straights, especially early when you can see cheap flops.

In my first live game the pure adrenaline made me tremble so hard the other players decided to ignore it as a tell :p
