re: Poker & Final table! HELP!
You are now at a point in the tournament where you have to identify every player at the table. Who can be exploited? Who is going to exploit? Who is tightening up just to climb the payout ladder? Who is going for the win?
You should have several characters wired by now, but some may be very new to you. Pay attention. What they are doing is way more important than anything you do.
Start with the two guys to your left. Can you steal their blinds easily or are they going to fight back? The two guys on your right - are they going after your blinds and how are you going to fight back?
Who likes to see flops, but can't take the pressure of a 3-bet?
I am not anti-limp, BUT I do not want to limp at FT. Chips are too precious to be tossing away in the hopes of the wheel of fortune landing on your number.
Chip stacks - who has what? This helps you anticipate action. You go for a blind steal from the hijack with weak holdings - oblivious to the fact the BB only has 12 blinds - and are surprised when he shoves on you. Well what is he supposed to do - let you rape him? Constantly keep track of chip stacks.
Position, position, position.
More than anytime in the tournament this is truly kick, scratch and claw time to bring in some chips so you can stay alive. You have to be alert and on your toes.
Everytime someone gets knocked out - reassess the table all over again because players will adjust their play - some subconsciously. Some will tighten, others will get looser.
