I've been playing a fair bit of the $3.50 turbo fifty50's on stars, hoping to build a sensible BR and to try and reach silver star status, but I'm embarrassed to say that I'm struggling to beat them. I started with a BR of $50, I know I'm not properly rolled for $3.50, but I find the $1.50 too boring with too low return.

My current strategy:

Early stages - tight, tight, tight. Playing only AA, KK & QQ

Mid stages (after 2 players crash out or the blind levels are $30/$60) - start to loosen up in position, playing AA, KK, QQ, JJ, TT, AK, AQ, AJ, 99.

Late stages (the money bubble) - I'm usually short stacked by this point, if not out - and I tend to shove with any pocket pair AT, KT, QT, JT and above.

How can I improve my strategy, and become a more consistent winner?

yep, loosen up more, if you can steal blinds early do so, if everyone else is playing kinda tight, then those extra chips will help you to avoid all ins in the later game, or help you to have those extra 100-200 chips which will mean you can survive losing all ins later, giving you the extra chance people who play too tight do not have.

Oh and shove really wide when you are in the SB in the later game, you don't really need a hand since players can't call you very wide.

This is how I play it.
Early game: play tight only monster hands, don't bluff or steal blinds.
Mid game: I know my enemies a little now, I steal blinds if I can, I still don't bluff, If I have monster hands try to get the pot big. I don't want to go all in pre flop with less then aa, kk but if i have to I do it.
Late game: More push/fold tactic, try to steal more blinds in position. The most important thing is that you have a good vision on your enemies.

Wizzim is right....loosen up. Playing nothing but monster hands means you can sit for long periods without playing. When you do get those pocket AA or KK hands, everybody knows it and fold so you pick up only the blinds.

You should play tight, in the early stages
in the middle stage try to steal the blinds of villain and use your image of tight to do so.
In the bubble, u will already know who is scared, and use this information to steal blinds too, and play tight.

After the bubble, carreful, because a lot of people will play more hands, so you can play more agressive, and play a little more hands of game.

strategy is simple, to study opponents, and then go on the offensive in order to accumulate chips

Just study your opponents and see the way they play ,be careful don't bluff don't steal blinds , play only with good cards and try to win big pots and don't go down with your stack

I would be reluctant to play too loose early in these games.
Key to winning fifty/fiftys is having fold equity, ie is chips available, when you do steal from the blinds.
Loose play early when the blinds are miniscule is too risky.
Play tight till the blinds reach 50/100. Hopefully you have lost 3 or 4 opponents by then.
With fewer players left your weaker holdings go up in value as there are less players to go through.
Now is the time to start stealing if the blinds are not being to aggressive.

It is hard at the table where the players play aggressively. It is easy to steal chips fail.
