Not off to a good start this month, just six-tabled some $5.50's and only cashed in one. Lost twice with overpairs all-in preflop (had my 4-bet called by 44, that was infuriating), lost all but one 60/40, it was dumb. I'm gonna four-table and see how that goes.

My goal for this month is pretty simple: practice good BRM, and play 95% SNG's-- stay away from cash and MTT's.

SNG goals for this month

Playing goals :

1.Be more stable as for the type and stakes I'll play (I can't refrain me from switching from 1 table to MTT's one and from turbo to super turbo which obviously doesn't allow me to learn deeply any of these )
2. Achieve 750 VPP stellar bonus and hopefully play enough to be silverstar on FPP by the end of this month.
3. Play 1000 or more SNG's (less than January because of the fail and the shorter month)

Learning goals :
1. continue with Stox and SNG grinders videos and as I earned 2 free weeks on Cardrunners I'll going to dive onto Jackal SNG small stakes videos and series which should made me busy for these 2 first weeks.
2. learn from my play aka reviewing my session and post more on the doubtful hands I've isolated.

All these goals are subject to my RL schedule which could be busy or not given the fact I'm waiting from job news to know whether, where and when I gonna moving house

Did I read somewhere that PS doomswitches you after you withdraw? Last night started to make me weary. I guess the new PC I bought with the $$ is worth it. Even though January was pretty intense as far as variance goes, I min-cashed in the Sunday Million, so that was a pretty good profit since I satty'd into it. And since I moved up to the $12 45p at the end of the month and ran well, I had my most profitable month of sngs. So here are the goals for Feb:

1) 550 games
2) 200 DONs, 350 45p turbos
3) Settle in at $12 stakes
4) Gold star
5) Satty in to sunday million again

Nice idea.

If you need/want any help, let me know. I love projects like this almost more than playing.

Thank you! I am going to do some preliminary math on this to see if this is worthwhile. I will definitely seek your help if I think there is some merit to doing the analysis. I believe these are the trickiest blind levels to play and getting a low risk steal (or even more so a resteal) would be greatly +EV.

Edit: How is your brm project going?

I think it will be. I used to joke (and still sometimes do) that if all you did was play AA and KK in the first 3 levels you weren't missing out on too much equity and in fact might be gaining it by not getting into tricky spots with TPTK type hands.

It was a bit of an exaggeration, but I don't think by much.

I also don't think that's the case anymore. The games have gotten tougher and being able to squeez any extra equity out of the early game is worth looking into.

The exercise: It's going slowly.

I was rear ended a week ago Saturday and haven't really had the time to put in any volume on it. And then getting crushed when you do have a hand doesn't help either. But it's early, so we'll see. I should have a blog post up about it before I head to LA for the weekend for my semi-occasional trip to Disneyland for Super Bowl Sunday.

This is still not that far off at all at least for the first 2 blind levels imo. These two levels are extraction from fish levels as opposed to stealing levels. As with any deepstack situation, position is key. Thus, JJ and AK are instamucks for me from EP but are value-steal/isoraise material for me from the CO and BTN (my exact CO and BTN stealing range/criteria is a secret :p). 25/50 is the first level that antes kick in and therefore, in my mind, warrant stealing considerations.

I read your blog on Collin Moshman's site on occasion, and yeah, that sucks :( Good luck with the grind when you get around to it!

I'm finally rolled for $11 STT's. I've never played them before, so I thought I'd one table it at first to see what they're like. This is what I learned:

full tilt poker $10 + $1 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t50/t100 Blinds - 6 players - View hand 514948
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

SB: t1205 M = 8.03
BB: t2915 M = 19.43
UTG: t2215 M = 14.77
MP: t2200 M = 14.67
CO: t2515 M = 16.77
Hero (BTN): t2450 M = 16.33

Pre Flop: (t150) Hero is BTN with Q

I guess that's true. It only took one idiot, lol. Some players still played pretty loose pre-flop, but there weren't any all-ins early.

I'll multi-table them, I think, when I have more of a cushion in my BR. I have about 21 buy-ins right now at $11. Until then, I'll keep playing the $5.50's.

*walks in late*

1 - Play at least 200 STTs
2 - Try to add at least one more table (four-tabling at the moment)
3 - Profit

I played a lot more than 200 last month but Mass Effect 2 just got released so I'm being realistic :p

On PT3, is there a way to get graphs for SNG's other than the "Money Won for Tournaments Played"?

My coach just got hired by DragtheBar to do sng videos. He is very good and I look forward to seeing what he comes up with.

This is a basic beginner's 10 minute classroom lesson of his:

Link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DKTL7TU9

If you are just starting to play sng's it helps put the game in perspective as far as when you need to be aggressive.

Thanks for the DL link -- that rocks.

On a side note -- I DL'd 192MB of Mass Effect 2 solely to build up my share ratio on a private torrent site -- and it went through the roof. I've uploaded that 192MB something to the tune of 12GB (ratio of 60).
