I am wondering if there’s a theory or chart on calling All in raises deeper in tournaments. I know there’s a push/shove chart, but I am unsure if there’s a one combatting all ins. I’ve noticed this is a big trend ITM. Players are often shoving all in. I understand that players with 15-20 bigs have little options but shove. Obviously they cannot always have a monster hand. How do you contend with this ? Also, the SB often shoves on the B.B. too. What’s the range one should be entertaining a call. Clearly many of these shoves are attempting to steal the blinds and antes.

I often look at the aggression factor of the player when deciding whether or not to call...plus their stack size, position, and then simply decide whether or not I think I have them beat.

If I have them dominated chip wise, I may let a few shoves pass but then I will call if I think it is a flip.

For me it is 99+ but if they hesitate or they are abusing all-ins for more than 3 hands in a row I get suspicious.

to me it all depends on stack size and how often they do it.

with 20bb they should push maybe premium hands only? so if they push every time around the circle they are playing too many hands. sometimes i'll wait for ace/face or a pocket pair, but i'll play back against them when i can.

i also notice that a lot of people push over the top of min raises, so if i get aa/kk or something around that time i'll just min raise and let someone shove into me (sometimes more than one person lol) and just reap the rewards that way.

You should wait till you have 10 BB to push.
Should avoid coin flips like allins when you can. when you have a big stack you can call them with premium hands if you wish.

Patience. Dont look to just knock out a short stack. If they are really short yea you can call with some hands at times. Just play solid poker.

if you can analyze how a player plays, and put them on a correct range. Then you should know what hands they are shoving.

i will be totally honest and tell you that if i am short on chips and just trying to make it to the money, i will tighten up like a stone and run down clocks until i get there. Unfortunately, by doing that, i will have lost a lot of antes and blinds in the process, so if i can even catch a group 5 hand, i am going all in (before everyone at the table calls me since my chipstack is weak). <i do tend to shove right into aces though>hehe>

patience, a lot of patience, I've seen that hardly players are ITM start going all in to be able to enter a little more in the game and much more if those players were very passive while the bubble exploded

This is the time when a lot more players will drop out. They will feel they already won something so try going after the lead, not all players will play a good hand hoping for folds.
I like to sit back for a bit if I am out of position or have marginal starting cards. With the SB tactic of every time going all in to steal, only takes me getting AA one time to cure it. lol I hardly ever use the all-in tactic, usually 3 times the BB is good for me, if the BB comes over the top I have the option to call or fold. If I go all in I don't have that option.

A push calling range is based on ICM calculations (just as push fold calculations just without fold equity since you are calling). Fold equity plays a huge role in high blind play which make it profitable to push a wide range of hands during this stage.
Factoring in diminishing chip EV + the lack of fold equity, the range of hands we can profitably call all-ins with becomes very limited.
In order to mathematically solve this problem we need to put villain on a pushing range, and figure out a calling range for our selves. You can do this manual ICM calculations for every hand, but versus a sizable stack with typical tournament payout structures you need to be about an 80/20 favorite. So only calling with QQ+ & maybe JJ & AKs if villain pushes every hand and you're last to act.

If you're in the big blind with a large stack facing a push from a short stacked opponent a simple pot odds calculation (when dollar EV and chip EV are nearly identical) can also do the trick. Depending on the circumstance calling with any two can be profitable.

EDIT: Refrain from calling pushes from a short stacked opponent unless you're last to act.

If the villan has 2.6bbs or less and its just you left to act you should call with any 2, otherwise you should try to put them on a range and call accordingly. For example if you think the villan with 10bbs is shoving any 2- call them with something like: 22,A2,K5,K2s,Q9,Q7s,JT,J8s,T9s,22,A2,K5,K2s,Q9,Q7s,JT,J8s,T9s
The other thing to consider is the "future game" or what will the stacks look like if you call and win or call and lose. If you are going to miss a big pay jump then maybe dont call the tight villan with your a6o 20bbs deep.
