I seem to be stuck in a rut in terms of MTT's and SNG's so am going to post top 10 winning and losing hands in tourneys and maybe others can help point out my problems and leaks:

Top 10 winners:
  1. AA
  2. QQ
  3. AKs
  4. 99
  5. AQs
  6. 88
  7. JJ
  8. ATs
  9. TT
  10. A6s
Top 10 losers:
  1. A4s
  2. 44
  3. A7s
  4. 98s
  5. KQs
  6. J2o
  7. A5s
  8. AJs
  9. QJs
  10. A3s
What I can immediately tell:
  • I'm overplaying suited and unsuited connectors
  • Same with small suited aces
  • I'm playing mid-pairs fine
  • I'm not maximising value with KK (16th best: 130bb/100, same as 77)
  • Overvaluing KQ and AJ/QJ
Feel free to help

More info

More information:
Position:
  • SB: 3.8bb/100
  • BB: -7.52bb/100
  • EP: 8.25bb/100
  • MP: 10.58bb/100
  • CO: 26.79bb/100
  • BTN: 30.59bb/100
Blinds are my only 2 losing positions in terms of winnings.
I tend to lose -64bb/100 when i flop top pair weak kicker with no redraws and win the most when i have overpairs, or 2pair+.

I also lose 52bb/100 in pots with a raiser and a caller, and 8bb/100 where the pot has been raised before me.

In tourneys, I am only a winner when i have 85-115bbs, all the rest i am losing, particularly when i have 150bb+ or less than 50bbs. This seems right as I seem to have no problem building a large stack early on but seem to lose it as the tourney goes on.

My biggest losers at showdown are high card and 1 pair.

Usually there is a sample size issue with these type of stats. Like, just because we are losing chips, doesn't neccesarily mean that we are making bad decisions. Likewise with winning chips.

You probably need to go through your top 10 losing hands and work out how you are losing chips with them, instead of just making assumptions, like sometimes we could be under 10BB and shove from the SB and get called by better, it's still a fine shove, but we obviously lose chips.

This is likely a sample size thing, KK isn't even in your top 10 winningest hand, and I doubt you have huge leaks when it comes to playing that hand :p

But yeah, some of those things you list are things you should expect, like your winnings out of the blinds for example, there's just not a lot you can do about that. And I am not positive on this one, but just because you're losing money at showdown with high card/ 1-pair hands doesn't mean you're misplaying them, especially in a SNG where those types of hands get shown down more often due to more pre-flop all-ins.

I guess what I'm saying is it's hard to get a grip on any leaks this way :p and I know it sounds annoying, but just post hands, either here or in HA, or just hit me up on Skype or something and just figure out what's happening in a specific hand, that's probably the best way to improve.

I kind of like this way of looking at it. I've never used extra software to analyze my play -- wonder what my lists would look like.

What is with the J2o being a big loser? Favourite starting hand or something? Everything else I can understand reasons for playing it, but not that one :)

I see -- I assumed it was based on the number of winners or losers, not total amount...
