Do you have mini goals in a MTT?

When you play, do you give yourself mini goals or do you go 1st place or nothing?

Depending on the size of the tournament I give myself many goals.

First is of course getting in the money.
Then it is either halving the field from that point and reaching top 180. Top 180 is important because a lot of time that is when pay jump starts happening every 9 players. After that it is usually top 99.

Then it would be top 18, where pay jump really matters and each 3 spots accounts for a pay jump.

Of course once you reach the final table each 1 less player equals more money in your pocket.

Over all there is only 1 goal and that is the win. But just making a final table is what I shoot for. Cashing is always nice but a min cash is not what i shoot for.

I want to win. Have to get in the money first. Not fan of double up or bust out early.

my main goal in a tournament is to be ITM, after that the second is to be in the FT and finally try to win the tournament

If it is bounty tournament then obviously minimum target is to eliminate atleast 1 player ...

I want to win - or at least top 3. In all three cases I am super happy.
The places 7-9 I hate a little bit and want to avoid, if possible
And I still want the mincash too much ...
