Not sure what I should've done here. Maybe bet a bit higher preflop, ok. I bet the flop for $900. I folded to his all-in on the turn... I felt like this kid had quads, I mean it is pokerstars after all (don't comment on that last remark).

I'm never ever folding in that spot. If he has quads you just have to pay him off. He would play a mid pair (probably any pair) just the same.

My tourney life was also at risk there, if I had more chips than him I would have insta-called for sure. (He was playing fairly tight also, whether that matters or not)

About 25-30 hands later in the same tourney:

Yeah, so was his. If he's got quads he most likely would have walked the dog. A push puts him on a smaller PP.

Bad fold.

K, I was pretty sure that a call was the only move there but thanks for the consensus. Yea, I guess he must have either had a pair or flush draw. Wish he showed it.

Either way I'm pretty deep in this tourney with above avg chips, 265 left out of 2791. Bubble broke at 414.

Super snap call, can't ever imagine folding.

My tourney life was also at risk there,

Your tournament life isn't worth that much. That was a pretty good spot to chip up.

My BR on Stars was $5.00. I'm a super micro player btw. (It's now $9 after that tourney, placed 111th. got it in with JJ against KK, couldn't catch).

But yea, will def make the call next time.

Yeah if I was an opponent I would play QQ like that, I would place Ax like that, and I may even play x3 like that as well...you will win that so many more times than you lose it.

Don't take bankroll into consideration until you get to the Final Table. You're either rolled to play the tournament or you're not; once you're playing every decision should just be based on equity and ranges.

So what does villain have here? What does villain think we have here? What does villain think we think villain has here?

Sorry but I don't buy the "He might play a '3' like this, or a flush draw." Come on.. think about that. You think he just 'flats' pre w QQ in this hand?"
You were the one sitting on the table with this guy.... What's villain capable of?

I might check flop here with intentions of getting two streets on turn & river (depends on villain obv.).

Some limited player reads > villain has total of only 35mtt's played on Pokerstars with avg. buyin of $1.19, playing for <3wks. 3 cashes, 2 of them in 'timed tourneys'. In other words... never folding even if sitting with 200 effective bb's

Ignore this ^ comment. Villain is likely incapable of thinking. Prolly barely knows the answer to first question (what does he have).

Nobody is checking the turn? As there aren´t any cards in the deck on the river that can make you lose (split at most).

What Ax hands are you calling an EP raise there with in that spot? How likely is it that villain is doing this (we're holding two of them). And what X3 hands? (I'm just curious.... I like to learn how others are thinking) & what would we hope to be folding out by RRAI on turn here w X3? (do we figure HERO will fold big pr. or King with smaller kicker? ;) because we think he thinks we know that he thinks we have the case King. (so why don't we just do it with any two cards? Why need the '3'?)

getting it in and fist pumping so hard, he has plenty of mid pocket pairs and he'd flat a king in position rather than shove it anyway most of the time

There are a few hands that are so rare that you simply can't ever fear them. Quads is certainly one of them. If you lose to quads when otherwise you have the best hand you have to just shrug your shoulders and move on.

He has 77 so many times here. OP can't be scared money. Hell he's more likely to have A3 sooted even with you holding 2 aces there than the King.

Not that it matters but he would've had me with trips.

And yea, I see now that most of the time they would not be shoving when holding a king there.... but then again there are sooo many donks out there that see a big hand and can't hit the all-in fast enough.

had you with trips? do you mean quads? if he had 3's full on the flop that becomes kings full on the turn and you are full of Aces which would be the winner

If he had quads so what still a snap call. As so many others have said not folding here EVER.

If he was holding a K, we would have had trips on the flop.

gotcha but I thought we were talking about the fold on the turn cause we can fold the flop but never ever the turn.

BTW I am not saying if he jams the flop we should fold I am just saying it is much much closer to a fold than the turn which is a fold never.

F me, this has happened twice now where I have a high pocket pair and the first 3 cards of the flop pair (after betting or 3-betting preflop), I bet and get re-raised all in. Called both times and they flopped trips both times, getting eliminated from both tourneys.....I'm done with that play.
