In a nine-man table, how do you play something like A-3 off in an early position? And do you play it any differently if it is a 6-man table? I put a lot more value on an ace in a 6-man or less table, but if I have an ace with a bad kicker and they are not suited in a 9-man table, I don't value it as much. I will frequently fold it on a 9-man table, but a 6-man table, I'm usually going for a pre-flop raise. How do you guys and gals do it? Do you adjust your strategy based on the number of players at the table?

fold it, but your general thinking is ok. The high card hand values go up more in 6max, implied odds hands drop off a little bit.

but yeah, just fold the weak Ax, it will save you a lot of trouble getting commitied when you flop an ace and you get action. If you have to play, raise something like 87s, it flops better, and is easier to play postflop.

The way I look at a 6-max table is that its a 9 handed table but UTG, UTG+1,UTG+2 have auto folded. Despite being 6 handed, there are other factors in tournament play that you have to consider (chip counts, stack/bb, blinds, etc)
