:( Arg, just when I was getting the hang of it, tournament poker in some casinos are gone.

I’ve noticed a change in some casinos in my area that are ending their tournaments, even the cheap ones. The bigger tournaments are also gone. Is this a new trend in the casinos?
I’ve been playing poker for years, enjoying the cheaper tournaments the most. I also play in larger tournaments when I can. But to end them all is not a very good business model.

In my country cassinos are forbidden,
you're lucky to have them.

Damn, feelsbadman, I've only played cash in casinos, never tried tourneys, but I bet they are quite fun!

You will have to mix online tourneys with cash games live to get both worlds maybe?

Why don't you ask the casinos where you play to hear why the sudden change? lower demand? too much casino resources vs profit (dealers and time)

They are still here but the rake is enormous to pay for the dealers and the missed rake from cash games at those tables.

There are many good events around the country, but if you want small stakes, online is the best place to play - huge fields allow small investments to grow very quickly.

Good luck to you! :D

I play cash games as well jus not as much. Online has a lot of cheap tournaments that keep me entertained.

IMO

I guess it depends on where you live. Here the closest one for me is Isle of Capri. Ive noticed that most of the regular weekly tournaments they put on they have a 10$ dealer appreciation add on. And I don't know too many ppl that wouldn't spend the extra 10$ for the extra chips. So it maybe the reason we still have the weekly tournaments bc of the missed opportunity for the extra money they would be making on the cash games.( ie rake and tips )
